Achievements and Performance

As Tring Together celebrated its 20[th] anniversary, the charity continues to change and evolve to suit the needs of our local community, living our vision to “Enjoy Life in Tring!”

All of this is only possible due to the community spirit that is at the heart of Tring and the passion and creativity of the Tring Together volunteers and Operations Team. Thank you to them all.

Our Big Community Events

The Spring Fayre 2025 was an especially delightful town festival. The weather was very kind for both the launch day and the FOTCH Family Fun Day, and it was heartwarming to see people sitting in the churchyard and enjoying the atmosphere at both events.

The Dinosaurs returned in the May half term for two days in the Memorial Garden. Two thousand visitors enjoyed being in Tring: shopping, eating in cafés and visiting the Local History Museum.

Believe it or not, the Summer Carnival was actually too hot! The dog show was rescheduled to later in the year, while visitors made good use of the large Tring Brewery marquee and numerous shade gazebos set up around Pound Meadow. This fourday festival saw the Big Quiz on Thursday night; the ever-popular Rennie Grove Beer and Band night on Friday; Tring Music Partnership on Saturday; and finished with a relaxed Sunday Soundscape featuring the Attention Seekers. This was our fifteenth successful year in partnership with Tring Brewery.

We partnered with a wide range of other not-forprofits for the Autumn Apple Fair . Funding from a UK-SPF Govt grant enabled some new activities along the High Street, plus a window competition and trail to encourage visitors into the shops.

To reinforce our mission to “Enjoy Life in Tring,” Tring Together facilitated the town’s commemoration of VE and VJ80 , commemorating 80 years since the end of World War II.

The Christmas Festival 2025 saw reindeer (yes, real ones!) in the Memorial Garden, together with Father and Mrs Christmas. Stalls galore filled the streets, the churches all opened for visitors, and four entertainment stages hosted twenty-seven different groups during a wonderful evening. The weather in the morning was atrocious, but the staff persevered in their yellow jackets and by 3.30pm the sky was blue.

Now in its fifth year , Tring Music Partnership encourages everyone in our community to take part in making music. As well as bringing joy, music is also good for our mental health and wellbeing.

We deliver our own events and workshops, as well as working in partnership with schools and existing music groups to support and connect everything musical in the town. In May 2025, our Programme Director Rob Schafer won the town council’s Community Award.

Here is just some of what TMP achieved over the past year:

• ran free youth big band/jazz instrumental workshops

• started a ‘Big Tring Youth Sing’ group for years 5-9, filing a gap in musical provision

• continued to support the Zebra Jazz Collective, which started as part of TMP

• ran the four stages at the Tring Christmas Festival enabling school choirs, local musicians and dance groups to perform live

• continued to work with Tring School music department

• ran a fundraising quiz in the Nora Grace Hall

• facilitated the music at the Tring Summer Carnival, FOTCH Family Fun Day and the Spring Fayre

• successfully applied for grants from community arts groups to fund our work

• ran a third successful gala night featuring young people from our workshops.

Tring Together at the Nora Grace Hall

Our twelfth year at the Nora Grace Hall was full of delightful events as well as fitness classes and educational activities. We are very grateful to our loyal band of hall hirers that ensure this Tring asset in the centre of town remains a thriving community hub. 2026 will see the hall close for development and we’re already looking forward to the re-opening party. The photograph below is of the hall’s original opening day in 1972.

Tring Cinema celebrated its tenth birthday and continues to go from strength to strength, with an appreciative audience and sellout performances. The team that run the cinema know their audience and know what makes a successful film evening.

Members and Supporters

Tring Together BusinessMart ran its 177[th] networking event this year and we have over 550 local BusinessMart contacts. We ran ten networking events using ten local venues to support local businesses. We also produce a monthly Business E-Bulletin to showcase Tring businesses. Our monthly BusinessMart meetings are famous for being welcoming and friendly, our mantra being that we want people to get to know each other, trust each other and then to work together.

Community Group Action is our popular quarterly community update, supported by a community calendar on our website.

Volunteers support us throughout the year . We are blessed with a large pool of volunteers and could not put on our big town events without them.

Donations, Grants and Fundraising are our main source of income. The Big Quiz at Tring Carnival was our biggest fundraiser of the year and our grant support comes from a diverse range of funders.

We received grants from Tring Town Council towards running costs and major town events; from Dacorum Borough Council for major town events; from Herts County Council for the Spring Fayre; and from the UK SPS Gov.uk for the Christmas Festival and Apple Fair. Our other big fundraiser was the Lantern Show, presented by two members of the (Nora) Grace Family and keeping the link between our hall and the current Tring population.

Marketing

Our website is www.tringtogether.org.uk. We use the social platforms Facebook (3,500 followers compared to 3,300 last year) and Instagram (2,910 followers compared to 2,646 last year).

Charitable Objectives and Activities

The charitable objects of Tring Together are:

“ For the public benefit to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of charities, and the effective use of resources for charitable purposes by not-for-profit organisations and voluntary organisations working in Tring and the surrounding area by giving advice and assistance to enable them to meet their purposes.”

In 2025/26 the following activities were identified as supporting our objects:

• the Christmas Festival provides local charities with the opportunity to raise money and awareness

• membership of BusinessMart enables charities to meet local businesses, raise awareness and increase support

• charities are included in BusinessMart and Group Action meetings to raise awareness for their causes

• our Group Action monthly newsletter spreads the news about charity and not-forprofit events in the town

• the Nora Grace Hall is a community hall, available for hire to community groups at a very reasonable price, and we offer free hire to some legacy groups

• opportunities for people to volunteer give them the opportunity to help and support their local community

• pulling together groups helps them work in partnership to get involved in community projects (e.g. the D Day 80 commemoration)

• we communicate wider opportunities for community groups (and local businesses) to benefit from large events (e.g. Dacorum Business Regeneration, Community Action Dacorum)

• as the “go to” place for information, we assist community groups and businesses to make links and contacts in the town.

Future Plans

To ensure that we remain a sustainable charity, our plan for 2026/27 is to hold fast while the Nora Grace Hall is redeveloped and to reopen with a flourish in October 2026. Working remotely, we will still give Tring plenty of reasons to love their community. At the time of writing, we are looking forward to running a sustainable fashion show as part of the Big Green Week; we have supported the first Tring Pride month; we are navigating the impact of the World Cup on the Tring Carnival; and we are investigating the possibility of taking Tring Music Partnership on tour in 2027. As usual, there is lots going on!

Tring Together is tremendously grateful to its supporters and friends: from individual volunteers who give their time to carry out specific jobs, to businesses who provide sponsorship for events such as the Christmas Festival, and to our Trustees and others who provide advice and wisdom as we set out, yet again, to do lots of new things to help people “Enjoy Life in Tring!”

Notes to the accounts – Accounting Policies

Reserves . The Trustees put aside 3 months expenditure in reserves as a prudent amount to allow for human resource costs and utility bills for the Nora Grace Hall in the event of the closure of the charity. There are no current concerns that the charity is not a going concern.

Basis of accounting . The financial statements have been prepared under the cash basis.

Fund accounting . Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for the particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for specific restricted purposes.

Assets . Tring Together owns the set of raked seating in the Nora Grace Hall.

Structure, Governance and Management. The charity is registered as a charity with the E&W charity commission. It is also a company limited by guarantee. The charity’s constitution (memorandum and articles of association) was adopted on 3[rd] July 2013, and it joined the charity commission register on 25[th] April 2013.

The day-to-day running of the charity is delegated to the Operations Team, led by a parttime CEO who is a sole trader (i.e. not an employee of the charity). New members are appointed to fill vacancies by the trustees. Induction of new trustees to the charity is carried out by the Chair and the CEO.

Reference and Administration Details. Tring Together’s registered office is Tring Together Ltd, Nora Grace Hall, Faversham Close, Tring, HP23 5BA.

Independent examiner's report on the accounts

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/03/2026 .

Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

• the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

• the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
