The trustees are pleased to present their annual directors, report together with the financial statements of the charity for the
year ended 30 June 2024 which are also prepared lo meet the requirements for a directors, report and accounls for
Companies Act purposes.
The financial statemenls comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Companies Act 2006, the Articles of Association and
Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts
in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) leffeclive 01
January 20151.
Alms and Objectives
The maintenance and improvement of the physical well being of persons resident ill Bristol and the surrounding
neighbourhood by the provision of facilities for physical training and recreation.
Public Beneflt Statement
The charity trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the
Charity Commission in exercising their powers and duties.
Achievements and Performance
The charity continues lo fulfil ils charitable objectives by the provision of facilities for physical training and recreation.
Flnanclal Review
The charity held £8,434,584 in reserves at the balance sheet date.

Governing Document
The organisation is a charity company limited by guarantee, incorporated on 23 February 2011 and registered as a charity on
8 July 2013. The company was established under Articles of Association which established the objectives and powers of the
charitable company and is governed by its Articles of Association. In the event of the company b8ing wound up members are
required to contribute an amount not exceeding £1
Appointment of Trustees
The directors of the company are also charity Iruslees for the purposes ol charity law. Under the requirements of the Articles
of Association, Trustees shall be appointed by resolution of the Trustees. Every Trustee will hold office unlil they vacate office
in accordance with Article 8.7 of the Articles of Association.
All members of the Board give their lime voluntarily and re￿iVed no benefits from the charity.

Trustees. Responsibility Statement
The charity Iruslees are responsible for preparing a trustees, annual report and financial slalemenls in accordance with
applicable accounting law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards {Uniled Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting
Praclicel.
The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the charity trustees lo prepare financial statements for each
year which give a true and fair view of the slate of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of
resources. of the charity for that period. In preparing the financial statements. the trustees are required to..
used suitable accounllng policies and then applied them consistently-
observe the methods and principles in the applicable Charities SORP-,
made judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.,

SHAFTESBURY PARK
I report on the accounts of the Company for the year ended 30 June 2024, which are sel out on
pages 7 to 12.
Resp¢ctlve r¢spon$lbllltles of trustees and examlners
The trustees (who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company lawl are responsible for the
preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144121
of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for independent
examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act.,
to follow the Pfocedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145(5}Ibl of the 2011 Act., and
to state whether particular matters have come lo my attention.
Basis of Independent examiners, rèport
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Direction5 given by the Charity Commission. An
examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts
presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts.

provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and. consequently, no opinion is given as lo whether
the accounts present a true and fair view and the report is limited lo those mallers set out in the statement below.

The Directors considers that the company is enlilled lo exemption from the requirement lo have an audit under the
provisions of s.477 of the Companies Act 2006. Members have not required the company under s.476 of the
Companies Act 2006, to obtain an audit for the period ended 30 June 2024. The Directors acknowledge their
responsibilities for ensuring that the company keeps accounting records which comply with s.386 2nd s.387 of the
Companies Act 2006, and for preparing accounts which give a true and fair view of the slate of affairs ol the
company as at 30 June 2024 and of its profit for the period then ended in accordance with the requirements of
s.396, and which otheiwise comply with the requirements of the Act relating to the accounts so far as applicable to
the company.

Shaftesbury Park meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS102. Assets and liabilities are initially
recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise slated in the relevant accounting policy notes.

All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the charity is entitled lo the income
and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy and that il is probable that the income will be re￿ived.

charity to that expenditure, il is probable that settlement will be required and the amount of the obligation can be
