advance education and to provide facilities

recreation leisure time occupation with the
objective of improving the conditions of life
for the residents.
In furtherance of these objects but not
otherwise, the trustees shall have power:
to establish or secure the establishment of
a community centre and to maintain or
manage or co-operate with any statutory
authority in the maintenance and
management of such a centre for activities
promoted by the charity in furtherance of

1.19|Eccles Town Hall provides a community
venue for the people of Eccles and the wider
area of Salford.
This year we hosted 19 concerts, covering
bands, choirs, and an orchestra. The
National
Association
of
Brass
Band
Conductors again held their prestigious
competition at the Town Hall, and a local
music school held two concerts by their
students.
We hosted six parties and discos, and a
lunch event for pensioners, and the Greater
Manchester Amateur Cricket League again
held their presentation night with us.
Two trade union meetings have been held,
along with 17 other corporate events by civil
service,
local
government,
charities,
businesses and a church.| |||Our café has been open with varied

art exhibition, and also for the Eccles

volunteers|Para 1.38|ECHO is staffed and run entirely by
volunteers. Currently we have 9 trustees
and 11 active volunteers. Both volunteers
and trustees contribute to the running of
events, with activities such as bar and café
serving, kitchen duties, meet-and-greet,
lighting and sound systems operation,
ushering and safety announcements. We
are attempting to recruit more volunteers,
to ensure that events are covered without
placing too much of a burden on a few
individuals. This will hopefully provide a
pool of people who will be able and willing,
in due course, to take on administrative

and this year our party and disco events
attracted a different local audience. Various
departments of Salford City Council have
organised a total of ten corporate and public

increase in our cash funds, finishing the year
£900 up on 2022-23. We have purchased a
new projector and a cooker this year, so this
indicates that our income has exceeded our
regular outgoings. We are hoping to improve
the hall acoustics, and to that end grants
