Achievements and performance
Liver4Life {L4L), which set its initial goals as providing a free-phone
helpline and developing infomiation to help the recently diagnosed and
those affected by liver Conditions has continued to grow and develop.
Continue to support 4 patient support groups
The L4L van was a valuable asset in reaching communities during the
continued lockdowns. We used the van to support palients who were
vulnerable and shielding. Working with UHD to provide outreach into
small8r rural communities. and we are planning outreach to homeless
and at risk groups a¢ross the South of England.
L4L did not attend any conferences this year. We are also working hard
to build our social media profile.
The managément team continue to create a strong brand and excellent
aWa￿neSS to ensure L4L is identified as 8 very successful national liver
charity- Clear goals and tsrgets have been developed jointly with the
trustees and the management t8am. and with the implementation of
these slrategies. L4L will Gonts'nue to grow and continue to be a key
influencer with the liver community.
The charitses work was undennined again this year with COVID, but
continued to deliver on all services including the helpline and patient
support groups.

Section E
Financial review
The Trustees of Liver4Lrfe belleve that the Gharity should hold financial
reseNes (the 'Emergency Operating Reserve. . EOR) because
i. il has no endo%vni8nt fundlng and is entirely dèpendent for
income upon donor funding from year to year which is inevitably
subject to fluctuation and
ii. it requires protection against. and the ability to continue operating
despite, catsstrophic or lesser but damaging events
The trustees believe that the minimum level of the EOR Should be the
equivalent of six months. operab'ng costs calculated and reviewed
annually and believe that the EOR should be built up to the desired level
in stages consistent wth charty's overall financial position and Its
need to maintain and devel
its charitable activities.
