At present the charity does not have any formal volunteers or employees. 

## **Income and Expenditure** 

A copy of the accounts to April 2024 are submitted with this report. The only financial event were 2 regular donations which generated some £10 for the charity 




## **Structure, governance and management** 

The Turnbull Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered in 2013, with the current constitution dated 19 June 2013. It is a small charity set up with the object of relieving the needs of disadvantaged children in need, hardship or distress, particularly but not exclusively, by supporting orphanages, or by other means, as the trustees shall deem fit. 

At present the Turnbull Foundation raises funds, as and when required to support the work of a mixed orphanage in the old city of Nagpur in India that houses around 45 boys and girls. The Foundation works with the management of the orphanage to identify projects that are needed to improve the wellbeing of the children. Once a project is identified and fully costed fundraising will be undertaken to raise the money needed. A project will not be started until the necessary funds are raised. 

Future projects, continue to remain still at the discussion stage, especially with the restrictions in both India and the UK due to Covid. We are still waiting for the people who run the orphanage to come up with some ideas and to then finalise their priorities and then obtain some quotes for comparison

The Charity now has 3 trustees. 

## **The Finances** 

At present the trustees have no wish to build up the financial reserves of the charity as this is not required. The trustees’ policy is to raise the funds as and when needed. This fundraising normally takes the form of informal dinners, or similar evening events and donations from individuals and companies. 

## **Associated Work** 



Whilst it has been another quiet year of consolidation for the Foundation, the staff at a partner company of Mr Oliver Turnbull in Nagpur still continue to give of their own time to help the children. The staff are providing help with English language and are also continuing to provide computer training and other support to the youngsters. 

## **Summary** 

The Foundation made a good start in its aim to improve the lives of the children, in particularly with the provision of hot water and a better environment. There remains more work to be done in the orphanage and the trustees remain intent on doing this as required in co-operation with the people who run the establishment.
