The United Reformed Churth. Broxbourne is a local thurch of the United Refomed Church in Great
Britaln and a member of the Thames North Synod.
OBJEcfs AND ACTivmES
The charitable object of the Churth is the adwancement of the Christian faith for the benefit of the
public in accordan￿ with the Scheme of Union of the United Refornied Church.
The Church provides benefit to the public in two main ways:
by providing public worship. pastoral care ar¥J spiritual. moral and intellertual development. both
for the congregation and for members of the wlder communlty:
by promotin8 Christian values and service to the community by mernt￿5 of the coTrdregatlon. for
the benefit of individuals and soaety as a whole.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Full and detalled reports on all artlvltles undertaken dUrf￿ the yearare presented at the Annual
Church Meetlng, and are available on request.
srRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE ANO MANAGEMENr
The Elders Meetln8• consistirq of the elerted Elders and the Minister. oversees the spiritual Ilfe of
the Church, and recommends to the Church Meeting arrangements for malntaining the buildings
and looklng after finances. The Churth Meetlwd {of all members wishing to attend) gives Buidance
on the life and work of the Church, and is its final decision-making body. Tt* Mlnlster is called to
the Church by its members and is in pastoral char8e of the Church.
Elders are elerted by Church MeetiTra from among its members. The sec￿tary and treasurer are
nornlnated annually by and from the Elders and elerted by Church Meeting.

URC Broxljourne is a member of the North Lea Valley Pastofate. together with the URCS in Hertford
and Cheshunt. The Pastorate did not have a Minister in 2021.

The Pastorate Fund Is for convenierfe held in a separate bank account. The remainin8 assets are split

OTHER ASSEfs USED FOR (>IURCH PURPOSES
The Church contents are insured for £158,23612020 £124.4741: £21.114 for the AV System12020 £19,150)
and £26,375 for the Organ. The Church buildin8 and the Manse are held in trust for URC Broxboume by
the URC Thames North Synod Trust. URC Broxboume is responsible for insuring them.
The Church bulldln8 Ss Insured for £2,653,150 {£2.361.2931 and the Manse was revalued at £486,066
1£450.OCM)I.
FUND DEFINMONS
Unre$trkted Funds may be used by the church for any of its ordinary purposes.
Restricted Fund5 may only be Spent on the specific purpose for which ttrey are ￿ven. Any money
remainin8 unspent must either be carried forward for future expenditure on the speciflc purpose, or else
returned. it cannot be absorbed into general funds.
The Report on page l and the Accounts on pages 2-5 were approved by the Elders
