We have been working closely with many organisations in Walsall such as Walsall Counicil on ‘Child Protection Issues since 2017 and on occasions implemented the procedure as and when the need occurred at our premices, UMEC has maintained a good number of students and community users with satisfactory flow of volunteers from the local community as well as paid members of staff.
All staff and Volunteers are regularly updated on matters concerning Child Protection issues and policies as and when changes occur via Walsall Council. Child Protection Training is given to all new staff and Volunteers prior to starting service with UMEC.
Links with Islamic and non-islamic establishments have been made e.g. …….
UMEC builded up good links with the local commuinties in Leamore area of Walsall and our Centre is heavily used on the weekends.

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
UMEC’s relationship building has been growing at a steady pace in the communities we serve, as from the beginning it has been on mutual understanding and good will. Majority of our community users / clients and students are from the local area and we haver memberships from the surrounding areas, many people have graduated from the centre and awarded recognised certificates in their chosen subject, main objective being to graduate good and useful citizen for the british society.

Most of our volunteers are bilinguals, they speaks, English, Urdo, Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Pashto etc. As we have community users from different back ground and some of them with very limited English skill. Therefore, our volunteers communicate with them in their languages, to understand them better to be able to help them or sign post them.
We have not had any changes to to mention in this report and we carried on with our community works.
Section D Achievements and performance
Many of the parents bringing their children to UMEC have also started Summary of the main attending our classes during the week as well on the weekends, the achievements of the charity Maths and English classes are also available for them to enhance or during the year renew their existing skills.
We feel that, based on the success and popularity of our education system we are able to offer higher education courses. UMEC will be offering Arabic and Islamic Studeis at a higher and Degree levels to the public from July 2018.
We started Friday lectures at Brownhills Community Centre for the locals in Brownhils and we are at our early stages of our work there. As usual we have organised cultural events, Eid celebrations, Persian New Year Celebration (Nowrouz) and invitations were sent to members, students and their parents and families. In all our events the responds were very good and positives. We have order Bouncy Castle to play and Pizza and Rice to eat which they enjoyed a lot.
Classes have been running in accordance to the Guidelines laid by the Government regarding the Covid-19.

charity’s policy on reserves and making improvements to existing facilities at the current UMEC premises.

We purchased a property for UMEC and rented it out, the rental income from the property is helping some of the rental cost of the current premises where we are conductiong our daily activities from it. Our aim is that UMEC to have long term sustainability in order to serve the community.

- The current building which we are using for UMEC, was initially rented to facilitate the initial stages of development until we buy a a building for our Centre.
