REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the year ended 31[st] December 2023
The trustees present their report and accounts for the year to 31[st] December 2023. The trustees have opted, under section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Charities Act’), to prepare receipts and payments accounts
Objectives and Aims
The charity's objects are specifically restricted to the following:

(1) To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with stated doctrines.

(2) The prevention or relief of poverty in Asia or throughout the world by providing: grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

(3) The prevention or relief of poverty [or financial hardship] anywhere in the world by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient.
We are involved in working with organisations in Asia to provide medical relief, water aid, education, support for poor and needy people, building projects, farming projects, vocational training courses, and supporting Christian pastors and evangelists.
Public benefit
The Trustees have considered the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit and consider that the activities of the charity meet its charitable objectives and provide a benefit to the public.
Achievement and Performance
The Trustees have meet 3 times and discussed the work of the Trust. They have looked at the following policies Amit Thomas in Hyderbad
The following support has been given to Rev Amit Thomas during the year
Support for a student
Support for the local charity and church in Varanasi. Bethel Full Gospel
Amit came over to the UK in June and we were able to support his visit through travel by air and train as he visited the various supporters around the country.
While he was in Braunton we had a lunch for various supporters and he was able to preach in South Street Church and attend a Bible study one evening in Ilfracombe.
Two wells were installed for two of the local villages which helped villagers during the hot weather in their summer. £500 was given to Amit towards his Christmas Feeding programme.
Samuel Joshua in Rajahmundry
During the year 20 children who were enslaved to gangs were freed and these children will now be educated and be looked after by a Pastor until adulthood. Widows and children who have been freed from slavery who are unable to go onto further education are taught to sew and then given a sewing machine so they can earn a living. VFA were able to provide 75 sewing machines. 330 Bibles in the appropriate language were distributed to new Christians at the various outdoor events organised by Samuel.
£500 was given to Samuel for his Christmas Feeding Programme.
Pastor Saleem Raza in Pakistan
Vision for Asia have supported 4 teachers who are teaching children whose parents work in the brick kiln factories as well as the necessary school fees.
300 Audio Bibles have been purchased for Christians.
The church was persecuted in one area of Pakistan and VFA were able to support several churches with replacing equipment that was damaged by fire. There are many refugees from Afghanistan in Pakistan and VFA were able to provided much needed food parcels and fans to help all cope with the heat. When there was severe flooding in Pakistan VFA were able to send much needed relief. £500 was sent to Saleem for his Christmas Feeding Programme.
Piyal Mondal in Kolkata
Due to very high temperatures in April the children on Rupamari island were given water bottles that keep the water cool.
Chickens for widows were provided to help eggs and a way of earning a living.
VFA continue to provide school, uniforms and a daily meal at Rupamari school.There is also a medical camp where parents and children are given the medicines they need.
Support for two partners of Piyal as well as Piyal and a widow of one of Piyal’s partners.
Piyal has started a discipleship programme and VFA are part of this programme. Bibles are provided as needed.

Chary Refugio in the Philippines
Chary’s church fees were paid by VFA. Relief was given to flood victims.
The orphans that Chary looks after were given a gift and the school fees were paid. Support for Pastor Gemar and Chary and his family’s needs. Support for evangelism and for Bibles.
Robert Rabie in Myanmar
Support for a teacher for the children plus school fees and a solar lamp. Support for Robert and church fees and license paid. 200 Bibles bought.
Vital relief was given to the cyclone and flood victims.
Varun Tiswari in New Dehli
Support was given to Varun. £500 for the Christmas Feeding Programme.
Varughese Mathew in Andaman Island
Support was given to Varughese and their Pastors. Gift for the orphans was given. Relief for the poor. £500 for the Christmas Feeding Programme.
Shekar Scott in Varanasi
Regular support was given to Pastor Scott for his work in Varanasi. £500 for the Christmas Feeding Programme
Saji Refugio in Kerala
Support for Saji’s work £500 for the Christmas Feeding Programme.
Financial review
The trustees consider the financial performance by the charity during the year to have been satisfactory. The Statement of Financial Activities show net outgoing resources for the year of £5,590 (PY outgoing £4,552) The charity’s principal source of funding is from donations and fund raising. Fund raising efforts by all supporters include ladies’ lunches, curry evenings, photographic presentations, jumble sales, Christmas bazaar, craft sales and local school table-top sales.
The key objective of the charity is to relieve poverty in the poorest areas Asia by providing practical relief to those in need, hardship and distress.
The Trust is committed to their objectives and aims and as the work enlarges the Trustees have adopted any policy to help them in their aims and objectives.
Reserves policy
Unrestricted reserves held at the year-end amounted to £6,281 (PY £2,719)
Structure, Governance and Management
Governing document
The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (converted) 17[th] May 2019
The directors of the company are also trustees for the purposes of charity law. The Trustees for the Charity were chosen carefully to draw on a breadth of experience from active local community leaders to managers of large retail outlets to give strength to the board on all aspects required to steer the charity and its aims forward.
Financial reports are presented to the board at each meeting. Minutes of each meeting are taken and subsequently distributed.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Vision for Asia
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Vision for Asia (the Trust) for the year to 31[st] December 2023.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I confirm that there are no other matters to which your attention should be drawn to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. Accounting Policies
Basis of preparing the financial statements and assessment of going concern
These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis as permitted by law for smaller charities.
The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.
2. Trustee remuneration and benefits
None of the trustees have been paid any remuneration or received any benefits from an employment with the charity or a related entity.
