Chairman’s Report 2022-2023
‘Firstly, thank you all for coming along today.
The last year has continued to be a challenge fine tuning activities following the pandemic. Keeping volunteer numbers along with the client numbers up to date does not come easily for those involved.
However once again the support has been great along with the support from our local community which has helped Chiverton to survive and move forward. Many groups still continue to struggle, so well done to all those involved with Chiverton.
Our ponies are thankfully still giving great pleasure to our clients, helped by the work of the coaches to give interesting lessons.
It gives me great pleasure to see you all pulling together as a team. Congratulations must go to the new Carriage Driving Coaches who have obtained their certificates this year, I myself have obtained my Carriage Driving Assessor Certificate. Talking of which if anyone wants to become a coach please come and talk to me.
Unfortunately, we will be losing Beverly this year which will be a very large gap to fill.
The Trustees have put in place lots of maintenance over the last year so as to make and encourage Chiverton to be a safe pleasant place to attend for both our group and our hirers who keep us afloat!!
I would like to add that there is a lot of work which goes on in the background with the trustees and others for which no one ever sees, without it Chiverton would be a very different place. So therefore, I would like to give a special thank you to my fellow Trustees who are always on call when we have a problem.
On conversing with Tricia Wilding when she came to review the riding coaches. I enquired what we could do to improve her reply “you’re brilliant” nothing. May we continue as a successful group giving pleasure to all within RDA and those connected to the large family we endeavour to safely hold together.
We are hoping to represent Chiverton at Stithians Show this year with one of our young drivers driving George.
George was shortlisted to be RDA pony of the year but didn’t quite make it to the top. It was won by Saxon of the Saxon group.
