Morecambe Community Church Chair-person’s Annual Report 2023/2024

Covid-19 taught us how to connect with a wider audience during our Sunday service. During Covid we started to stream our services live, and this is something we continue to do now. Our services are available on YOUTUBE to watch either live or later on. We find that we have approximately 20-25 people that join us on line and many more that view afterwards.

We have continued to engage the congregation within our services. We have found that people enjoy breaking up into small groups to share their views. Not only does this mean that people are able to feel part of the service, it also strengthens the relationships and feeling of community between the congregation. As leaders we believe, and encourage, people to share their views with the wider group. We have people from all walks of life attend our services and it is important that the people who are considered the “least in society” feel welcome and included as much as everyone else. We as a church feel that this is extremely important and an integral part of how Morecambe Community Church serves God. We have on average 40 - 45 attendees per week.

Morecambe community church has continued to build and strengthen the relationship with Capernwray bible school and the students who come to the church as part of their outreach. As a church we find the students bring new perspectives and experiences that they share with the church.

Last year we partnered with Urban Saints to offer a weekly youth group aimed at 11-16 year olds. We have started small and are slowly building our weekly numbers. Currently we have around 5-8 young people who attend regularly as a core group. They engage with each other and the volunteers in their lively and loud sessions! They discuss the weekly topics with passion and ask/share their questions and experiences. They also go on some wanders and walks where they can experience God and his amazing works in nature.

Morecambe community church also continues to offer practical and emotional support to the congregation and the wider community. We feel that this is not only part of our “Dream” but it is an integral part of building God's Kingdom.

Our church Motto is Faith, Hope and Love, experience, expressed and inspire. We will continue to put God and our motto at the forefront of all our work and prayers.

For the board of trustees.

Mrs Rachel Clarkson Morecambe Community Church Chair-person

Morecambe Community Church Treasurer’s Annual Report 2023/2024

Having made saving in our expenditure, our church offerings continue slowly to diminish due to the cancellation of some standing orders from people no longer attending the Sunday morning church services. Though our accounts are still healthy enough to continue for many more years at the moment.

The attendance at our church services is usually between 30 – 40 per week.

We will be looking in the coming year, to see further reductions in costs in order to stabilise our finances more and to encourage new and greater giving, God willing.

Mr Ian George Swash Morecambe Community Church Treasurer
