Ealing Soup Kitchen Trustees Report Year ended 31st December 2024
The Lord in this unity across the churches in Ealng continues to bless this ministry in His name and we rightly give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness in His provision and thank those involved for another year of dedicated service.
Throughout this year we had our usual cycle of the supporting churches with their leader and team serving every six weeks to ensure that we were open every Saturday and Sunday afternoon throughout the year with a seated table service for our guests. This pattern gives each church both the opportunity to serve in this way and is sustainable with the busy life in West London of the many involved in the running of the soup kitchen. In additional it gives a variety to the guests in terms of the menu being offered and style of service, plus the special relationships that form between the teams and the guests over many years; a place where our guests are often known by name and where there is a special atmosphere of family and belonging each weekend.

The Friday Hub likewise continued it's normal service in providing a place of belonging and care with food and practical support for our guests with more time for individual needs than the weekend soup kitchen can provide and is another part of the weekly pattern of support throughout each week.
The Monday hub which is held at the Salvation Army Premises in West Ealing decided post COVID to continue their takeaway service due to size of the facilities in providing a sit-down service for all the guests; however most importantly they are continuing to provide home cooked food and act as a distribution point for food parcels supplied by City Harvest and clothes donated by the community.

Another tradition started many years ago was the Soup Kitchen summer BBQ which resumed in 2023 after an absence during the COVID years. The team who did a BBQ this year were blessed with sunny weather and perfect temperature. It is always a joy to run and especially the surprise on some of the guests' faces as they arrive to see the BBQ. As always, a great relaxed atmosphere with an abundance of food where everyone ate until they were full.

The celebration to mark the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was a joy once again to have our traditional Christmas Day at the soup kitchen where we are open all day with an allday Christmas dinner with all the trimmings where many travel from across West London to spend the whole day with food, drink, films and most importantly company throughout the day. One guest commented that Christmas Day at the Ealing Soup Kitchen was his favorite day of the year, which is heartening as Christmas Day is often a hard time of year for our guests.

During the year the trustees agreed to invest in a marketing agency to ensure we told our story coherently and effectively, in order to widen our support base.
Financially we have been abundantly blessed during 2024 once again which we don’t take this for granted and thank the Lord Almighty for releasing in the hearts of so many the abundance He has blessed them with to provide for those in need and may they be blessed in being a
We continue to give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for Ealing Soup Kitchen that He started through the churches of Ealing back in 1973 and the privilege of serving the King of all Kings.
Jesus says, “ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me ” (Matthew 25:40)
