The Trustees initially Set geographic criteria based on residence and school location. DUng the years the Trusteès have been in contact with admissions staff at Cambridge University, University of Worcesler and Ihe successor medical schools to St Bartholomew's lo find students currenlly sludying al Ihese institutions who malch the geographic criteria. As a fesult of this exercise 37 students were idenlified to whom. after the Tfuslees had satisfied Ihemselves Ihal Iheir applications were in order, granls were made.

Going conGern After making appropriate enqulries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that thg charity has adequate resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue lo adopl the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements, Further delai15 regarding the adoplion of the going concern basis can be found in the Accounting Policies. Reserves policy The Trustees, current poli¢y is to build up income reserve lo a level capable of sustaining the charity's planned annual average, when reached. of up to 40 medical sludenls being funded for the remainder of Ihelr slx years of training. This equales to approximately £BO,000 of grants a year. The Truslees are looking lo maximise the investments income that Ihey can obtain lo achieve this level of gUPPOrt.
