Public benefit The Trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake. Achievements and perfomianco Significant activities and achievements against objèdives During th8 period the Truste95 have con￿ntrated their activities on promoting the availability of fundlng to assist medical students from Kidderminster and the surrounding area of the Counties of Wor¢estershir8 and West Midlands. The Trustees inFtially set geographic criteria based on residence and school location. During the years the Trustees have been in contsct with admissions stsff at Cambridge University, Universty of Worcester arKI the successor medical schools to St Bartholomev/s to find studènts currenlly studying at these institutions who match the geographic criteria. As a result of this exercise 22 students were Identified to whom. after the Trustees had satisfied themselves that their applications were in order, grants were made.

REPORT (CONTINUED) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2024 Investment pollcy and perforn)ance The Trustees invest the assets of the ¢hartty with the aim ensuring that the charitsble objectives of the charity may be fulfilled. The objective is to generate investment retums that will enable the Charity to commit to providing funds by way of scholarships or bursaries to medical students over the full six years of their training and to meet its administration and Supp￿ expenses. All decisions about the day-to4ay management of the assets have been delegated to the investrnent managers via a written agreemenL This delegation indudes decisions about: Realisation of investments Social, environmental and ethical consbjerations in the selection. retention and realisatron of investments and the exdusion of certain sectors. The exercise of rights (induding voting rights) attathing to the investments. Financial review During the year the charity made a net surplus of £247.306 (2023 - net deficit of £49,224). At the year end the charity had net assets of £3.967.370 (2023 - net assets of £3.720,064). Going con￿rn After making appropriate enqulries. the Trustees have a reasonable expectatlon that the chaiity has adequat8 resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue to adopt th8 going concem basis in preparing the finanual statements. Further details regarding the adoption of the going concem basis eAn be found in the Accounting Policies. Reserves poliGy The TNstees' ajrrent FM)licy is to build up in￿rne reserve to a level capable of sustaining the charitvs planned annual average, when reached. of up to 40 medical students being funded for the remainder of their six years of training. This equates to approximately £200.000 of grants a year. The Trustees are looking to maximise the investments income that they can obtain to achieve this level of support. At the year end the charity has totsl reserves of £3.967,370 (2023.- £3.720,064}. Of this £53,514 (2023: £79.839) was unrestricied and £3,913,856 (2023: £3,640.225) v￿S held as an endowment to generate fvture income for the charity. The charitys free r8serv85 are equivalent to its unrestricted reserves. Structure. governance and management The day to day administration of the trust has been delegated to the derk. who is a solicitor with access to the facilities of his fom)er partnerships. The Trustees met at least once 8ach quarter. Two committees meet from time to time to deal wrth finance and other matters in greater detail. The Gharity works within a very focused area of activty. Its investments are managed by CCLA Investment Manag8ment Limtted. The Trustees believe the charity complies wilh the governance suggestions set out in the Charity Govemance Code for Smaller Charities. The Trustees have tasked its g8neral submmittee with reviewing that Code and ensuring that the charity continues to comply and that the Trustees are given whatever training is appropriate to ensure the continuing compliance. Related party relatlonshlps The Trustees have made a provision for the balance owed to the cha￿ty by Strettons of Kidderminster Limited, a subsidiary company. The amount of the provision is equal to the net defi￿t on the balance sheet of the subsidiary company less £30.000 which will be released to the company under the investment agreement it has with Teledu Telesgop Cyf. FRS 102 Yhe Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland. ('FRS 102") and the Charities SORP "Accountlng and Reporting by Char￿e$. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). (effective 1 January 2019). The charity is a Public Benefft Enw as defined by FRS 102. The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities not to preparg a Statement of Cash Flows. The ffinancial statements have depart8d from the CharFties (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This deparbjre has involved following th8 Statement of Recommended Practi￿ for ¢hariti8s applying FRS 102 rather than the version of the Statement of Recommended Pradice which is referred to in the Regulatlons but which has since been withdrawn. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, modified to indude the revaluation of freehold prop8rties and to include inveslmant properties and ￿rtain financial instruments at fair value. The principal accounting polides adopted are set out below. 1.2 Golng concern At th8 time of approving the financial statements. the tNst88s have a reasonable expectstion that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational ex5Stenc6 for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. 1.3 Charitable funds Unrestricted funds ar8 available for use at the discretion of the trustegs in furtheran￿ of their Charitable objectives. Restricted fvnds are subject to specific Conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The purpose5 and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statsments. Endowment funds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the Capital must be maintsined by the charity. 1.4 Income Income is recognised when the charity is legally entitled to it after any perfonnance conditions have been met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be received. LegarAes are recognised on receipt or otherwise rf the charity has bèen notified of an impending distribution, the amount is known. and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known. the legacy is treated as a contingent asset. Income tax recoverable in relation to investment income is recognised at the time the investment income 15 recelvable.

Expenditure 15 dassified by aclliAty. The costs of each aGtivty are made up of the totsl of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each acttvity. Direct costs attributable to a single activity are allocated directty to that activty. Shared costs whith contribute to more than one activity and support costs which are not attributable to a single acliifjty are apportioned belween those activities on a basis consistent with the use of resour￿5. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of time spent. and depreciation charges are altocated on the portion of the asseys use.
