Trustees are appointed by recommendation and a resolution is passed by a simple majority at at the Trustees meeting. Each Trustee signs a declaration of willingness to act as a Trustee. **Activities and objectives in the year:** the Trust operates through a charity shop which has the objectives of benefitting the general public and advancing the Christian faith **Achievements, performance and state of finances:** the shop was closed for almost six months due to the Covid national lockdown however, we received grants from Birmingham City Council and the transfer of funds from a The Message For Muslims Trust, a registered charity that had to cease its acivities. The transfer of funds was approved by the Charity Commission. Due to these donations our income exceeded 25,000 and therefore we include this additional report along with our Income and Expenditure report. Apart from our end of year balance we have no other reserves. As per normal our accounts were audited by an independent accountant. The charity¹s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner’s report** My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
