## **Report of the Trustees.**

## **Structure, governance, and management**

The Trustees, who are also directors of the Charity, are pleased to present their annual report together with the consolidated financial statements of the Charity for the year ended 31[st] May 2021. The Trustees confirm that the annual report and consolidated financial statements of the Charity comply with current statutory requirements, the requirements of the Charity's governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP), applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015) as amended by Update Bulletin 1 (effective 1 January 2015).

## **The Trustees who served during this period were**

J. Drew, B. Fawcett, G Hazelton, J. Pereira, D. Pull

## **Principal Activities**

The principal activities of the Trust are focused on making a difference, by assisting the ongoing work of Life Ministries Christian Centre, which is involved with the marginalised, poor, and disadvantaged within East, Central and South Africa and beyond. The Trustees provide professional advice and support through ongoing relationship with those working locally within LMCC at the grass roots of the Ministry. They also verify the correct use of all funds donated by Life Ministries Trust in line with the aims and objectives of both Trusts.

## **Acknowledgements**

The Trust relies on The Lord’s provision and the generosity of individuals and organisations that stand with us to support the ongoing work of LMCC. The Trustees are grateful to all those who have contributed in so many ways throughout these incredibly challenging times, enabling the Trust to operate effectively. Special thanks go to the many supporters who have continued to support the Trust so generously over many years enabling this valuable work to continue..

## **Report**

During this last year, which continued to be affected by the Covid 19 pandemic, we give thanks to God that the number of supporters and child sponsors has been maintained enabling the ongoing donations to LMCC to continue making a real difference in supporting, educating, providing health care, and feeding the poor and marginalised during these very challenging times.

We are pleased to confirm that, again. our **expenses were less than 0.01%** of revenue; resulting in **over 99.99%** of all donations being used effectively supporting the ongoing work of Life Ministries Christian Centre. At the end of this financial year the Trust had £5,185.95

cash in hand having donated **£113,250.00** to LMCC. These funds were allocated as follows: 22% for Ministry use, 47% for Health Services,15% for Child Sponsorship, 5% for Education, 4% towards training leaders, 3% for distribution by the LMCC CEO, and finally 4% was received from Kairos Friends for allocation where there is most need within the various projects.

The LMCC Leadership training programme welcomed 16 new students in March 2022 following the graduation of the previous group. The schools operated (mostly) normally and the Kairos Health Services were greatly appreciated by everyone who used them. The Nurses accommodation hostel was completed thanks to the great generosity of our supporters and friends; a wonderful achievement in these challenging days.

Due to Covid 19, the Trustees were again unable to visit East Africa during this financial year. We are planning a visit later in 2022.

Regular online Trustees “Zoom” meetings have been held with the CEO of LMCC joining the meetings providing accountability and reassuring the Trustees of the progress withing the work of the Ministry. In May we welcomed Gordon Hazleton as a new trustee.

Once again thanks go to Mr David Bonfield for his assistance with the auditing of the LMT accounts and to everyone who continues to pray for LMT/LMCC and contributes so generously, without whom this work would not be able to continue.
