Fundraising Events organised by 353:

A Rockaoke event was organised by the Trust and held at a local Rugby Club. 43 pre event tickets were sold online. It raised before costs £934

Fundraising Events organised by others:

Eight 3rd party events were held on our behalf which we know of, together with on-line donations raised £61 426

Events included:

Team ‘Dig Deeper’ event which raised £21 000
Chris Burtonshaw’s Challenge raised £1 300
M Vallance donated £2 120
The Eagle pub in Warwick raised £172

Specific Donations of funds include:

Payment of £2 040 to phycologists to support individual veteran cases. Donation of £15 000 to Nowzad, Charity No. 1119185 Donation of £15 000 to Support our Paras, Charity No. 1131977

The future of the Trust:

The Trustees were expertly guided by the Charity Commission when we established the Trust, ensuring we could continue our work well into the future despite an ever-changing economic landscape. Although the nature and number of our fundraising events, and the amounts raised, has shifted from the patterns seen during and immediately after the Afghanistan conflict and subsequent withdrawal, the Trustees have safeguarded sufficient funds to support our causes for many years ahead.

We remain deeply grateful, and humbled, by all who raise money for the Trust. We are careful and considered in how we use those hard-earned donations, always mindful of the purpose for which the Trust was created and the people we are here to support.

We continue to see demand for assistance related to substance abuse and mental health challenges, as the long-term effects of recent conflicts weigh heavily on those who served. Although they have retired from the armed forces, their battles have not ended, and we will continue to provide support when it is needed.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of The 353 Trust accounts

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 16 September 2025, which are set out on pages 01 to 02.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention

Basis of independent examiner’s report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act

have not been met; or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
