OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the charity are :_
The prevention or relief of poverry in Kings L￿tn and the surrounding area by providing food to local
people who are in need of emergewy supplies ond by such other means as the trustea% may
detennin¢.
Our vision is to end hunger and povety in the UL We k[￿W thai it is improbable we can ail
hunger and povety but this is our goal.
Our mission is to bring CQTnmunities together to ¢nd hunger and povety in ihe UK by providing
¢omp3ssionate* practical help while challen8in8 injustice.
The Kings Lynn Foodbank is a charity founded on Christian principles. We WO￿ with pw)le of all faiihs
and none.

All food given oui by the f(K)dbank is donated or purchasoj with funds donated to us. Supernwket
colleciions are one of the main ways that [[￿ 15 donatcd. Professionals such as docror& healih visilors,
social workers. CAB, and kx)lice ideniify people in crisis and issue them with a fThKlbank voucher
In setting our objectives and planning our activities our tn]stees have given careful ¢onsideraiion to
the Charity CortllnissioTts getlerdl guidance on public benefit.
Chalr's Report
This year has been for Kin8s Lynn F(M)dbank a time when we have operated in a eontext where there is still a
significant Cost-of-living crisis which has meant that the detnand forour Services has substantially tncreased. and
our food stocks have diminished. We have employ￿1 a drii'er io free up lime for our Warehouse Manager to buy
in the stocks we need at the keenest EX)ssible price as donations of fo(d itself are insufTicienL
In the AccountinR year we fed a total of 6396 people which is a fiAure at the same level as last years rttord level.
We have also given out fuel vouchers to help folk to heat their homes bearing in mind the substantial incrtrdses in
g85 oil and electricity costs. and we are very grdteful for grnnts and other monies enabltng us to do this.
We continue our aim of WOTking towards the eliTnination of the neal for the Foodbank.We have utiliwl a grdnt
from Trussell Trust to enable us lo employ an additional member of staff in the distribution centre thus releasing
our Strategic PrOj￿t Manager to spend time seeking ways to ail¢viale the endemic food poverty in the area Along
with other statutory and voluntary agencies.
We hai'e been blessed w'ith substantial wfts both of food and also mortey to enable us tts proi'ide this food and
the organisaiion notwithstanditEg the increased call in our services. We have a]so receivd gran(s from the CouncÈl
a5 well as from TTussell Twsi to ¢nabl¢ us co work wilh Citizens Advice in pmviding debt and benefit advice in
line with our hope of doing away with the need for our charity.
Our finances remain in a strong posttion and we are urgently 5ceking18rger premises which will enable us to
earry out our work more effeciively although we are very wieful ￿ Ihe Sea Cadets for the use of part of their

time to help those who come to the Foodbank needing food aThl help. It al￿ relies on ihe supp)rt and g[￿will of
th¢ whol¢ of th¢ ¢omniunity in West Fyorfolk inLluding ordinary Christians from many churches. as well as those
who have simpli. seen the need and souRht to rne￿ li from Iheir ow'n sometimes limited resources. Both l and all
of the TTUStees are very grateful and humbled by these signs of a community meeting the nea15 of those who 8

1.1 Basis of Preparation
These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cosl or transaction valu¢
unless oihenvise staled in the relevant nole(s) to these accounts.
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with:

accord<illir wiLlI ilie Fiiiaiiiial Rcpotting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued
on 16 July 2014.

The charity constitutes a public bencfit entity as defined by FRS 102.

There has been no change to the accounling policies since last year.

2. Accounting Policies
2.1 Incoming Resources
All income 15 recognised in full in the Statemeni of Financial Activities in the year in which it is r¢eeived.

2.2 Fund Accounting
General fuiids are unrcstricled which arc available for use as the discretion of the tnjstees in furtherance of general objectives
of the charity and which have not been designaied for other purposes.
Restricted funds are ￿ndS which are used in accordance wilh specific resiriclions imposed by doDors or which have been
rAi.qed by the charity for particular purposes. The cost of raising and administering such funds are charged against the specific
fund. The aim and use of each restricted fund is set oul in the not¢s of the financial statements.
2.3 Resource5 Expended
All expenditure is included on an accruals basis and is recogniscd when the commitmenl has beeTh made.
The charity is not registered for VAT and accordingly expenditu￿ is shown gross of irrecoverable VAT.
