| Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document Para 1.17 The CIO's objects are restricted to the fostering of the public's knowledge, experience and appreciation of chamber music and thereby the advancement of the arts, culture and education for the public benefit, including by means of: (a) organising an annual public festival of chamber music concerts in the town of Lewes, East Sussex, and the surrounding area; (b) organising public concerts of chamber music elsewhere in England and Wales; (c) organising performances of chamber music for school children in Lewes and the surrounding area; and (d) providing opportunities to students of music who have demonstrably excelled in their art to perform in concerts of chamber music alongside professional musicians. |

The 2024 Festival went ahead with a continued return to pre-Covid arrangements and maintaining audience numbers from 2023. The programme was ambitious and well received by the audiences. Preparations are underway for the 2025 Festival. |

Para 1.21 | The Festival has net expenditure of £1,925 for the year. This is due to the scale of the Festival in 2024, which had a higher than usual number of musicians which increased all the costs, particularly musicians fees and accommodation. |
