Moira Harwood, our Officer in Charge and extremety valued member of the team. sadly passed
away on 218t April 2022. This deyastated all membets of staff. Sarah Atkinson has b￿n Acting
Officer in Charge together with Julie Russell who came in house in OCto￿r 2022 and assisted in
all the day to day running of the dub. Sarah and Julie were appointed by the Twstees as C¢>
Managers in January 2024
INe have a strong relthonship with Ss Akjan & Oswald's RC Primary School armj wrth the
teachers and staff. We also have a solid bond with many primary schools in the Oldham
area as children from these attend our successful Holiday Club. A strong associatKJn
extends to the Hbgh schoob too eg Newman RC College and Crompton House School and
facilitate students completng their Duke of Ednburgh Awards. We also have a Manchester
Metropolitan Universty st￿lent and a Hopwocxl Hall student workuig within the club.

Our Charty's policy on r&8etves is to try to maintain that we have al beast 3 months salary
We have no fijnds in defjcrt.
Our charity pnncipal source of funds is frcm parentslcarers. From January 2023 we decided to
ase payments by bank cards and most families n¢YW pay straight into our bank a¢￿Unt via Bank
Transfer.
We also have voucher payments from a wKle range of companEs. From De¢8mber 2018 v
s￿ned up lo the Tax-Free ChildJ3re Scheme and n(Av r￿￿e paymènts through HMRC. We also
receive payments through the Childcare Grant PayThEnt Setvice.
Our expendTr￿re is mostly on salaries and we have maintained National Liwng Wage for our
employees.
We haven't increased the fee charges since September 2021 for school terrn time and haven't
increased Holiday Club fees Sin￿ before 2017.

At the end of March 2020, the majorty of the staff were PLrt on furlough and we utilised the
Govemments Job Retention Scheme to daim 80% of their wages bad( which helped especially
with the charty haviThJ very little to no income throughout the lockdown months March -August
2020.
Wrth our reserv8s being gcod for the first 3 months we topped up our employees, wages to 100%.
We re-opened on the 3rf September 2020 but there was a slow uptake in places tsken by the
children and didn't ts)ver the wages which Is *there the majority of our expenditure is. We used the
Job Retenticn Schem8 from the end of October 2020 and again in January 2021 to fvlly furlough
and flexibly furlough our staff. Flexi-furlough ts when you pay for hours worked and claim 800kn of
hours not worked but we still had to go into our reserves for the Holbday pay at the end of
December which you are unable to claim for under the temis of the Job Retention Scheme
Guidelines.
We are now below ts reseprfes for the 3 month's salary as above.
We also claKned for Ststutory S￿k Pay when our staff were isolats'ng because of Covid-19 or had
Covid-19.
All on site staff, at the b'me, had undertaken a CovNJ-19 awareness course and understsnd fully
what is required and were happy to follow the gu￿ebneS. All on site staff had undertaken cours8S
in Safeguarding. Prevent and Food Hygiene. From the 3rd September 2020 closed snacks only
were given to the chiklren. for example babybel chevJe, yoghurt tubes. crjsps, bars. bananas,
oranges et¢. to ensure no cross contamination.

As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparaiion of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Chartties Act 2011 ("the Act").
The charity's trusiees consider an audit is not required for this y¢ar under seciion 144 of the 2011 ACL and th￿ an

During the previous years financial period the charity benefitted from a totsl of £173.43 of Government Grants
from the HMRC Staiuiory. Sick Pay Grnnl. In accordance ￿'ith accounting Fxylicy. these ¢redit5 were included in
'Other Income, w'ithin the 'Receipts and Payments Accounts. in the period for M'hich they compensated.
