Function

The primary function of the CCN Trustees was agreed to be the oversight of Hope Huddersfield. CCN being an umbrella organisation under which Hope Huddersfield is the main activity. The day to day running of Hope Huddersfield being delegated to the Hope Huddersfield Steering Team. Trustees Mike Reid (Chair), Mark Brooke, Steve Hurd. CNN / Hope Huddersfield would follow the national Hope Together strapline of being a ‘Catalyst for Transformation’, co-ordinating churches and Christians across Huddersfield.

Hope Huddersfield Team

The core Hope Huddersfield are Mike Reid (Chair) (Elim Church); Sara Cosgrove (Community Church); Mike Wilkins (Holy Trinity Church); Simon Walters (Holy Trinity Church); Steve Hurd (Ark Church); Emma Walters (Kirkheaton Parish Church); John Carson (Gledholt Methodist); Sue Pegg (Gledholt Methodist). We were sad to see Simon & Emma Walters move to Harrogate in October to take up a new ministry role in a St Mark’s church. They will be missed. It is a joy that Dan Lush from the Community Church joined the team.

Administration

We are thankful to Susan Kerton overseeing our administration for four hours per week. Elim continue to run the payroll, which Hope Huddersfield reimburse.

Finances

Year-end 31-3-2024 figures are attached. We need to note that there is £2,996.64 of the ‘awards for all’ grant of £10,000, which is to be used for youth work in the Dalton area.

Dalton Youth Project

On 25th July we supported a family fun at the DRAM centre by paying for an inflatable obstacle course costing £210.94.

Events

We had a Prayer and Praise evening at Holy Trinity on 24[th] March Palm Sunday, where we prompted the Celebration of Hope event. The invitational evening of music, stories, and the good news of Jesus was the major focus of prayer leading up to the event at Huddersfield Town Hall on Sunday 19[th] May 2024 with Gram Seed and Daniel Habtey speaking. Leading up to this there was several prayer events using the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ resources including zoom and face to face prayer meetings. The event was well attended with people responding to the invitation to follow Jesus.
