CCN (Christian Communities Network) Trustees Annual Report - 2021
Function
The primary function of the CCN Trustees was agreed to be the oversight of Hope Huddersfield. CCN being an umbrella organisation under which Hope Huddersfield is the main activity. The day to day running of Hope Huddersfield being delegated to the Hope Huddersfield Steering Team. Trustees Mike Reid (Chair), Mark Brooke, Steve Hurd. CNN / Hope Huddersfield would follow the national Hope Together strapline of being a ‘Catalyst for Transformation’, co-ordinating churches and Christians across Huddersfield.
Hope Huddersfield Team
The core Hope Huddersfield are Mike Reid (Chair) (Elim Church); Sara Cosgrove (Community Church); Mike Wilkins (Holy Trinity Church); John Carson (Gledholt Methodist); Steve Hurd (Ark Church); Elliott Sharp (Elim) and Nicola Pogmore (Elim) doing administration.
Administration
We are thankful to Nicola Pogmore carrying out administrative task for 4 hours per week. Also we are grateful to the William Brooke Benevolent Fund for funding her time.
Finances
Year end 31-3-2021 figures are attached. Due to the pandemic not all the activities planned for the Dalton Youth Project took place. There is £3,246.64 of the ‘awards for all’ grant of £10,000, to be used for youth work in the Dalton area.
Dalton Youth Project
Prior to the pandemic good connections and permissions have been made with Netherhall Learning Campus high school. Further development of plans will take place when Covid-19 restrictions allow.
Events
While many plans had to be postponed, such as God in the Park 2020, we had some significant times on Zoom. Firstly there were times of prayer for Church leaders which proved extremely helpful in mutual support and care. Secondly we have termly inter-church prayer zooms which saw many joining together from a wide range of churches across the town. At Easter 2021 we distributed over 4,000 ‘Bags of Hope’ with invites for people to join services on-line or where possible in-person.
