The tharity makes grants to POOT familie¥ and individuals for basic need5 such as food and medical requirements
and also mak85 grants for the enhancement of the practice of the Jewish RelIg￿on.
The trustees have paid due regard lo guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what aGlivities Ihe
charity should undertake.

Bederech Kovod is a charitable trust govemed by a trust deed. The principal offlce Is at 18 Welbeck Grove,
Salford, M7 4DH.
1.1 Basls of preparation
The financial statemen15 have been prepared in accordance with the charity's goveming document. Ihe
Charibes Act 2011, FRS 102 "The Financi81 Reporting Standard applicable in the UK 8nd Republic of Ireland"
and the Charities SORP Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable lo ch8ri1ies PTeparing their accounts in accordanc& with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by
FRS 102.
The finanGial Statements have departed from the Charitles (Accounts and Reports) Regulalion5 2008 onty lo
the extent required lo provide a true and fair view. Thi5 departure has involved following the Statement of
Recommended Praclice for charities applylng FRS 102 rathèr than the version of the Statement of
Recommended Pracll¢e whl¢h 1$ refe￿ed to In Ihe Regulallons but whlch has since been withdravm.
The financial statement8 are prepared In sterllng, whlch is the fvn¢tlonal currency of the charity. Monelary
8mounts in these flnan¢i81 $18tements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financlal statement8 have been prepared under the hlslorlcal cost conv8nllon. The principal accounllng
policles adopted are set out below.
1.2 Golng concern
At the lim8 of approving the financial statements. the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity
has adequate resources lo continue in operatlon81 existence for Ihe foreseeable future. Thus the twstees
conllnue to adopt the g¢ing conrRrn basis of a¢¢ountlng in preparing the flnancial statements.
1.3 Charltable fund•
Unrestricted funds are available for use al the discretion of the trustee5 In furtherance of thelr charitable
objectives.
Restricted fund5 a￿ subjed lo specific conditions by dono[5 or grantor5 as lo how they may be used. The
purposes and us8s of the reslricled funds are set out in the notes lo the financial slalemenls.
Endowment fvnd5 are Subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the
charty.
1.4 In¢ome
Income is rècognised when Ihe charity Is legalty entitled to it after any performance condltlons have been met,
the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donatlons are recognised on receipt. other donatlons are recDgnlsed once the charlty has been notified
of the donation, unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable in
relation lo donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is rgcognised al the time of the donation.
Legacies are ￿CogniSed on re¢elpl or otherwlse If the charity has been notified of an Impendlng distribution,
the amount 15 known, and receipt is expected. If the 8mount is not known, the lega¢y is Iregted as a
Contingent asset.

1.5 Expendlturè
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obllgation to transfer economic benefft to a
third party, it Is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount of
the obligation can be measured reliabty.
Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each aclivity are made up of the total of direct costs and
shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to a single
actIv￿Y are allocated directly lo that activity. Shared costs which contribute lo more than one activity and
support cost5 which are not attributable to a single 8th￿lty are apportioned be￿een those activities on a basis
consislenl with the use of resources. Central slaff costs are allocated on the basis of time spent. and
depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
1.6 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand. deposit5 held at C811 wllh banks, other short-teTm liquid
investrnents with original maturities of three months or less. and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafls are Shown
within borrowings In current li8bililles.

The cost of any unused holiday enliltement is ￿CogniSed in the period in which the employee's 5ervlces are
received.
Termination benefits are recogni5ed immediatety as an expense when the charity Is demon5trabty committed
to teminale the employment of an employee or to provide tem)inalion benefit6.
