The church was founded in the 1840'$ as part of Garknd Street Baptst Church. Bury St
Edmunds, becoming indeF*ndent in 1948 and thonging its legal name to Great Barton Fr88
Church some years later. In June 2012 Ihe membership de￿ded to incorporate the charity by
transferring the assets and liabilitbes tC#3ether with the administratpie fijnction to a charitab18
ry)mpany with the same narrE and under Artic￿$ of AsKKithn with the same Basis of Fatth
and similar objects lappnwed by the Trustees on 2ThJ January 2013}. The company l)e¢ame
a¢tive on 11t April 2013 when the entire fvnds of the Charitsb￿ trust we
transferred. On 1V De¢ember 2015. a new operatiry name was adopted, Freedom Church,.
th• legal name remains unchanged. The company is limited by guarantee and does not have

relief and aid programnEs. As part of this work, the Church donates 10% of income received
from offerings and giving to a wde variety of Christian clwibes and ministries. In the past
year these included A2B. a charity working to relieve povety in Albania" New Day Unl￿￿ UK.

B(x)k (the Bib￿ So&etyl, lQntsugi Hope and Christians Agai￿$t Poverty (CAP).
Through our members the Churth has worked with a dNerse mix of chr￿tan ministri8S
connecting with the k￿1 communty thr￿gh the proviston offormtstuff to Storehouse. a local
food bank" and support tK>th finandal and practical to Bury Drop4n centre, a local woffen's
refrjge and Mission Resource providing practical construction skills to other ministries.
Specifically, this year the Congregati￿ have contributed £6,990 to create a hardship fvnd
speaftcalty for the relief of those WIK) have been adversely affected by the Coronavirus
pandemic.
The outreach program￿￿ in Great Barton has been signfftanty curtailed due to Coronavirus,
however as and when restricti.ons have pemiitied the Fre&Jom Cafe has hosted outdoor and
Covid secure gatherings during the sumrrEr r￿nthS and a pre£hrthnos event for the
community. In partnership wrth a l(>31 soft p* company, COVKI secure pre-s¢hwl aotivities
have also been organised whenever [￿1b￿e. Addrbonalty. suc￿sS￿J1 on4ine Alpha courses
have been run and a new partrFer5hip has t))rnrrenced with Kintsugi H¢y to promots and
support emotional and m*1 tWel￿￿1n9.
Despite the challenges ofthe last year there has been an overall irmase in the numbers of

engaged running the Bury St Edmunds CAP Centre. Salaries werp also paid to Church

£57.830 {2020: £58.4931.
