The principal purkw of Mid Norfolk Foodbank is to prowde
emergency food bJxes to lo¢al people who have found themselv88
in financial crisis and unable to afford to buy food for themsefves
arKI their family.
After several years of signfficant increase in numbers helped due to
the ongoing cost of living crisis. our 3 centres in Dereham.
Fakenham and Swafftiam have seen a steady increase in the use
of the service this year
We have a team of over 70 volunteers across the netbvork without
whom we would not be able to maintain our service to many more
people in need. Many, though not all, of these volunteers have links
wrth local churches and all 3 ￿ntre8 run out of church buildings.
DuTirvJ the year we ￿Ere supported by several supermarkets and
were blessed with many donats'ons of money, much of it from
individuals who vKre unable to donate food.

Over the year we have given out food to around 5600 people 40%
of who *ere children.
We have been supported throughoui the year by a steady infiow of
food donated by indNiduals, schools, church8s and other
organisaknons. We have also been supported by Tesco, Wartrose.
Morrisons and the East of England Cooperative Society
supennarkets, vtho have allowed us to collect food at the stores on
a regular basis wrth pemianent collection points in store
We continue to operate our warehouse on Rashes Green in
Dereham.
A signffi¢ant change to the way ￿ collect and di8triLxrte food this
year has been the purthase of an electn'c van. made possible
through a grant from ￿ Communty Organisations Cost of Living
Fund delivered by the National Lottery Community Fund
We coniinue to be grateful to the Wellsprtng Family Centre in
Dereham. the Bapts'st Church in Swaffnam and the Salvation Army
in Fakenham who continue to provide room for the Distribution
Centres operated during the week, free of tharge.
The Focrfjbank operates on a voucher scheme and the number of
local care agenaes issuing vouchers, such as the Breckland
Council, has steadily increased as we have become better known.
We now have over ￿ *Jencies. v4ho deal with those in crisis in the
local communty, who can now issue a voucher that will feed those
in need. Most
encies now use electroni¢ vouchers vthen referrin

clierts to us.
During the year we were sU￿esSful in receiving other grants to be
able to help people wrth er￿rgY costs. These grants amounted to
£6CQO and we y￿re able to help roughly 136 households V￿th their
domeslic fuel bills.
The Tnth believe that Fo(NJbank continues to be a r8al
SUc￿$S. not only in serving k)cal people, but also in bringing local
churthes knJether to serve their communty in a simple and
practical way. The support to the communty has been rewgnise by
th8 award of platinurn julylee citizen by the Dereham Town Council
to two of our founder members.
The charty continues to raise the funds it needs to carry out it$
objects fr(xn a variety of sources indudirvJ grants and donations.
The financial resutt8 for the year are set out in the accounts that
accompany this report.
The Trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission guidance
on public benefrt. They recognisé that rt is th8ir responsibility to ensur8
that thè benefts ar8 offered in De￿harn. Fakenham and Swafftiam and
the surroundirwj ar8a$.

Financial review
We hold cash at bank of £94071. Of this £5000 is carried forward as
restricted funds for fuel and food. These funds are held in order to meet
any change in Circumstan￿S. for example the need to employ staff or
rent extra space. We currently pay one volunteer on a self-employed
basis to carry out administrats.ve duties and this wll have an impact on
our reseNes. However we intend to keep at least 2 years of funding in
reserve.
