The fiscal year 202312024 has been a forever changlng challenge for Age UK Thanet. Slowly, findlng ways lo be
able to flnd posslbllilles of supporting the organlsation to move lorwards with Ihe cosl-of-livlng crlsls. Changes In
funding opporiunllles and uncertainty of conlra¢ls from Kent County Councll and lack of clarlficatlon has had a
SeV8re pressure on the services as there has been a high increase of service reqLSiremenl8 and lack ol uplifls
from contracts whlch has had an Impact on overhèad costs, Conlracts have not bèen able lo cover incr88slng
market costs. A further challenge was the rlsk of skllled staff le8vlng due lo the uncertalnly of conlracls.

Our hot meal dellvery 'Buddy Box, has flucluated over the year due lo an Increase In cllents who needed long
term carg and clients going Into hospit81. This service does provide. the most vulnerable wllh a nulrltlonal meal
and a w8lf8re call.
Our Dementla and Me Organls6r conllnues 10 6uppori Sn a flexible approach lo ensure the needs are met of the
advlls Ilvlng with demen118 and thelr car8r.'s. We are now supportlng more adults Ilvlng wllh demenlla on a one-
to-one basis at home and group 8Ctivllles end Oemenlia cafés.
The Health Care Foot Pr8ctlllon8r is busy as ever supporting clienls out in Ihe communlly.

The Age UK Thanel Charlty Shop also closed as planned, due lo the lease endlng on the 30th of'september
2023,

needs of the communlly. We have been engaging wllh cllents and volunteers regularly to dlsGuss any changes

The Childwlck Trust - The Childwick Trust has funded a full-lime dementia support worker salary so
