The Trustees present their report and accounts for the period 19 February 2024 to
18 February 2025.
Structurei governance and management
Brionys Glft Is an unincorporated charlty, reglstered with the Charlty Commission and
governed by way of a trust deed, adopted 13 March 2013.
The affalrs of the charity are managed by the trustees, who may exerclse all the powers of
the charity. The liability of the members of Brionys Glft, in the event of windlng up of the
charity, is limited to a sum not exceeding £100 per trustee.
Appointment of trustees
In accordance with the terms of the constitution, trustees can only be appolnted by a
resolution passed at a properly convened meeting, or a decision of all of the trustees.
The trustees who served durlng the year are shown on page 3 of this report.
Charitable aims and objectives
The objects of the charity are:
To relieve the sickness and distress of children who are sufferlng from life limiting illness
and conditions such as cancer in such ways as the trustees shall think fit, In particular by
the provision of gifts and the granting of wishes.
Public benefit
In shaping the objectlves for the year, the trustees have pald due regard to the public
beneflt gUIdan￿ published by the Charlty Commission. The trustees consider that all
attlvitles as outlined in this report meet the public benefit requlrement.
Revlew of the year
Brionys Gift continued to support children and young adults wlth cancer and other life
limiting and life threating illnesses and conditions In accordance with charity's aims.
The fundraising shops in Wombwell continue to be part of the heart of the community
promoting the charity and building community spirit. Alongside this the shops save items
from landfill, promoting sustainability and give the local communlty access to low cost
items. The awareness which the shops bring to the cause has been key to several large
donatlons which have benefited the children. This includes not only money but new items to
be donated directly to the ward and craft packs which we have been able to donate.
One again we continue to make positive connertions wlth families of children on treatment
and contlnue to offer support moving forward. We contlnue to offer free maglc shows and
other entertainment as well as free photography In order to capture time for the famllies
and provide lasting memories.
Brlonys Gift continues to be a positive p￿sence wlthln the community offerlng volunteerlng
opportunities for the unemployed people as well a5 those suffering wlth anxiety and
depression alongside those wishing to fill thelr tlme supporting a worthwhile cause.

The Charity's policy on reserves
The trustees recognlse the need to keep reserves at a level which will give the charity stablllty
to enable it to continue to operate in the future and aim to hold a minlmum of £7,500 In ￿serve
at any one tlme. The actual level of reserves held by the charity on 18.02.2025 was £49,655
(18.02.2024: £34,487).
Related Partles
The trustees consider that there are no related partles to the tharity.
Trusteas responsibilitles for the financial statements
The trustees are responslble for keeplng proper accountlng records, which disclose with
asonable accuracy the financial position of the charity at any time and enable the
trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year. The trustees are also
responsible for safeguardlng the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularitles.
Financial Position
The financial statements are Set out in pages 7 to 9.
The Receipts and Payments Account shows a surplus for the year of £14,808 (2024: surplus
£14,345). Total funds of the charity at year-end stand at £49,655 (2024.. £34,847}.
The trustees declare that they have approved the report above.

I report on the accounts of the charity, which are set out on pages 7 to 9.
Respertlve responsibllities of trustees and examlner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees
consider that an audit is not requlred for this year, under section 144 (2) of the Charlties
Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examlnatlon Is needed.

follow the procedures laid down in the general dlrection5 given by the Charlty
Commissioners under section 145 {5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
state whether particular matters have come to my attention
Basis of independent examlnerfs report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general direction5 glven by the
Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by
the charlty and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
conslderation of any unusual item5 Qr disclosu res in the accounts, and seeking explanations
from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provlde all the evldence that would be requi ￿d in an audit. and consequently no opinion 15
glven as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view, and the ￿port Is Ilmlted to
those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examlner's statement
In connection with my examinatlon, no matter has come to my attention..
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the
requlrements to keep accounting records, in accordance wlth sectlon 130 of the 2011
Art, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting ￿cordS and comply with
the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met.

l. Accountlng policies
Basis of the re
ration of the accounts
The financlal statements have been prepared on a Receipts & Payments basis which
summarises the movement of cash in and out of the organlsatlon. In this context 'cash'
Includes cash equlvalents, such as bank accounts where cash can be readlly available to pay
debts as they fall due. This format of accounts is available to non-company charltles with gross
annual income of £250,000 or less.
Classlfication of income & ex
nditure
Income and expenditure has been analysed in the accounts using natural classlfication.
Funds s
cture
The charity maintains an unrestricted fund which represents funds whlch are expendable
at the discretion of the trustees In furtherance of the objects of the charity.
Unrestricted funds may arise from general donatlons, grants of a general nature, fees
for servlce provision and payment for servlce delivery contracts.
Restricted ftjnds may be provided to the charlty for partlcular purposes and may only be
spent for the purposes for which they were given. Any balance remaining outstanding
on a restricted fund at the end of the year is carried forward as a balance on the fund,
unle55 permission has been given by the funder to remove the restrictlon on the balance
outstanding. Restricted funds will arise from grants and donations given to the charity
for specific purposes.
Taxatlon
Brionys Gift is a reglstered charity and Is exempt from UK corporation tax on Income
from its charltable artlvltles.
2. Trustee remuneration, benefits and expenses
There were no payments, remuneration or beneflts to trustees during the perlod, other
than out of pocket expenses that were reasonably incurred by trustees In promoting the
purposes of the Charity.
