-
Our primary work concerns the community use of The Spire, our building. The Spire was formally an Anglican church building that had fallen in to disrepair. It is now a vibrant community hub which includes office space for local charities, a community café, a community food store and rooms to hire.
-
The redevelopment of the land surrounding the main building remains a primary objective and we are awaiting planning permission before the sale can complete.
-
We have completed the purchase of the adjacent building which is a big step forward.
-
We have taken on a member of staff to help manage the work and she is doing a great job.
-
At board level we have been discussing how we might further our impact by investing in new and innovative charitable projects. We intend to set up a grant making project using the income from the sale of the land.
-
Our Chair stepped down and a new chair was appointed.
