Thi5 year has been one of contlnued growth and development We are continuing our objective of
ad￿anCIng the education of children with special need5 and are actively working directly with Parents and
Carers (P&C) of ChSldren and Young People with SEND (CYSEND) age 0 - 25years. We are continuing to
expand our services and ne￿orkS in addition to our work with schools, educatlon and trdlnlng.
The JSENSE Helpline continues to see Increaslng demand. Followlng consultarion wlth parents we
have now extended our Helpline services to include advocacy to further our aim of ensuring the
needs of children with SEND are met and in partrcular their educational needs
JSENSE contlnues to develop face to face parent support groups for parents and carers of children
and young people SEND offering peer support and enabling them to develop strategie5 to
meet the needs of th￿r children

In demand for help through the helpline. with parents retM)rting additiorral dlstressed behawours with
their children post lockdown. In pArticular the delays post cO￿d for SEND assessments with famllies
struggling to deal with and not knowing what to do to help their child who has SEND. There has
been a significant increase in complexlty of the needs of those using our 5ervice&
JSENSE is continuing its support to schools. including the introduction of diagn05tic tools for
SENDCO'S designed to plnFM)Int specific learningand behaviourdl diffloJlt6es. whlch without diagnosis,
may Ilmit a child's potential to learn.

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** 

## **Charity's policy on reserves** 

The trustees have considered the level of unrestricted reserves that would be appropriate for the charity to maintain. The trustees have made an initial assessment and have concluded that in view of the Charity's dependence on grants, reserves should be built up equivalent to six months running costs of the charity of approximately £30,000. 

At the year ended 3 I **st** August 2022 the Charity's bank funds amounted to £27,464 out of which £12,146 was restricted and £ I 5,3 18 was unrestricted. 

The reserve policy and level of reserves required is reviewed on a regular basis by the trustees during their meetings. 

## **Further financial review details** 

Principal source of funds are grants from Delamere Trust and the National Lottery

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparatlon of the accounts in accordance wlth the

I report in respect of my examinatlon of the Trusvs accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act
