Section D Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year Achievements and performance The charity has concentrated on research for a hotel to work with to provide a night of respite for the patients going through their treatment, therefore the assets has increased as no expenditure was needed at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI), due to the large expenditure to the LRI and successful refurbishment of the treatment area the previous year. The charity successfully donated wellness bags for the patients at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) with different items/activities in for them to complete during their treatment. Individual donations from members of the public and local companies continue to make up a good part of the charity's income. TAR March 2012

Section E Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves Financial review Reserves remain in the account as such time that the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) chemotherapy unit request the money for items / refurbishment needed, which is yet to be requested. Reserves also remain in the accounts to sustain the charity's new project for providing a respite facility for the patients to use. EXAMINER'S UNQUALIFIED REPORT Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Gems Charity I report on the accounts of the Gems Charity for the year ended 6th June 2025, which are set out on pages 2 to 5 Respective responsibilities of the trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for the year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: - Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act - To follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act - To state whether particular matters have come to my attention Basis of independent examiner's reports My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
