All Church attendees are encouraged to register on the Electoral Roll and stand for election to the PCC. A revtsed Electornl Roll was prepared in 2021; it contains 60 names, compared with 66 in 2020.
Objeetives and Actlvities The PCC has responsibility as Trust¢¢ of the Parish Church of Donhead St Andrew and its churchyard. It also has the responsibility of co-operating with th¢ Rector in promoting in the ecclesiastical parish, the whole mission of the Church. p&storal, evangelistic, soctal and ecumenical. Revlew of th¢ Year The appointment of the Rev Kate McFarlane as Rector of the Benefice of St. Bartholomew was announced on 18 April 2021 and she started work on I" September. We are grateful to the priests who took services during the illterregnum and to The Rev Tony Monds who was the celebrant at our Patronal Festival on 29 AugusL We welcomed the new Rector to St. Andrew's at Sung Eucharist on 12 September and to our Haest Festival Family Eucharist on 26 September after which she and her family joined us for lunch in the church. A large Congregation attended the Remembrance Service on 14 November, which was taken by Toby Carson, starting at the war memorial ID the cemetery and continuing in church with the choir. The choir also sang at the Nine Lessons and Carols on 19 December but Covid les meant there were no refreshments. The Benefice Midnight Mass was held at St. AndT¢W'S on Christmas Eve but only ten people attended. During the year there were two weddings in July. iwo baptisms and five funerals or Thanksgiving services. We are ind¢bted to the Rev'd June Lane. Rev'd Mary Ridgewell, our Licensed Lay Minister, Jo Johnson 2md our lay ministers for leading our services. PCC Meetin . The full PCC met four times during the year. Church Im rovem¢nts. It is a place for regular worship. a haven forpopping in to and for quiet contemplation. a building with a strong sense of continuity with its past and a clear understanding of and enthusiasm for its long-terni future.
The Friends of St Andrew's Church - the Develo With the completion of the Development Project. The Friends of St Andrew's Cburch has been closed. The remaining funds have been transferred either to fund the ¢ontAnuing Chair Appeal, the work of the Fabric WoTking Group or to reimburse the Unrestricted Fund for minor items. ment A eal. The Chair Appeal remai[ opcn for further contributions. So far 67 chairs have b¢en given by villagers and fonner villagers. W¢ quickly moved on to implement St Andrew's Church's Vision and Mission, by the PCC back in 2012 and updat¢d in 2019, as a pLa¢¢ where the whole village can gather for worship and for community activitics. A busy programme of church and wmmunity activities was plannLal for 2021 but, sadly, was delayed by the impact of COVtD-19. We We able to commence activities in September including comrrity coffee momings. a four-day art exhibition and hosting Parish Council medings. A wider range of activities are under way in 2022. The accowits for the year to 31 Dec¢mb¢r 2021 hav¢ been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. Unrestricted General Fund Income. The PCC benefitted frorn an unexpected and extraordinarily generous legacy of £135,000 in the year. Excluding this legacy, total incorne increased from £21.035 to £38.199. mainly due to being able to hold the annual fete as Covid restrictions were relaxed. Events income incre&sed from £1266 to £19.530. The Teopening of the church also resulted in an increase in coll¢¢tions and th¢ generous respons¢ to a planned giving appeal. enditure.Total expenditure amounted to £33,028, £10,278 below 2020. 2020 costs were bigb due to the costs of roof repairs but donations to worthwhile causes and f¢te costs increased in 2021. Diocesan Share and Benefice exp¢ns¢s of £15,200 remained at the same level &s 2020. lus. Excluding the legacy. the Slllplus for the year was £5,171 (2020.. deficit of £22,271). Fabric Reserve Fund. This is a designated fund within ullrestricted reserves held in accumulation shares in the investment fund of the Church of England Central Board of Finance. Gains on th¢ underlying value of investrnents amounted to £2,597. At 31 December 2021 the Fund was valued at £17,470, compared to £14,873 at 31 December 2020. In addition, wlth the closure of the Friends of Donbead St Andr¢w. £3,094 has been transferred to the Fabric Reserve as at 31 De¢¢mber 2021. Balances. At 31 December 2021, total unrestricted fimds amowlted to £182,086 (2020.. £35.314).
Development Restrirted Fund During the yur Gift Aid amounted to £4,151 (2020 - £5,881). £4,202 was tt7nsferred to the Development Fund on the closur¢ of the Friends. Costs to complete the redev¢lopment of the church amounted to £10,157 (2020 - £70.946) and ov¢rall funds fell to £12.885 (2020 - £14,689). These funds are now at the disposal of the Fabric Working Group to finanre remaining items agreed with donors.
