HuddersfEld, St Phillp's part of the United BenefKe of St Cuthbert Birkby and St Phillp the Aposd8, Birchendiffe (though this is likely to change in 2026 assuming the dosure of St Cuthberts) in the Deanery of Huddersfthj and the Di¢x¢se of Leeds within the Church of England. Th• PCC operate$ through a serie8 01 $ulKommrttees {listed above) each of which report back to full PCC meetings. In additirm to the finance and ggngrsl business of the PCC, the following topics have been discussed.. 1. We adopted the safeguanling policy 8tatsment 'Prornoting a Safer Church. (House of Bishops 2017) at the PCC Meeting in June 2025. and this is reviewed annually. The ststement confirns that all people who work in the Church agree to abide by the Fx)lio88, r8commendats.ons and guidelines established ty the Church. 12

1. Re¥/d Ruth was licensed at St John's Church, Birkby and Woodhouse - everyone was s¢xry to seé her finish her time at St Philip's but wished her wdl in her new role.
2. An Extra PCC meetlng wa$ held in March to Adopt the Accounts ready for the APCM There was a Complete Revision of our Electoral Roll prior to our APCM. Our APCM was held in the C¢Thmunrty Centre on April 6th 2025. following the Sunday Service.
3. In July we had a Vlsilatlon from A￿hdeacon Bill Braviner.
4. In August we had a Di$￿$s1On re the Draft Proposal for the Dissolution of a Parish and Closure of a Parish Benefic8 of St Cuthberts Church, Birkby and St Philip's Church. Birchendrfle
5. At our August PCC Chris Jones agreed to take on the Th￿e of Health and Safety Officer for St Philip's g. A further PCC Meeting was held on 2151 october with Archdeacon Bill Bravln•r and Rural Dean Rev'd Rachel Firth to update us on what happen$ now Rev'd Joanne ha8 retired.
6. Building Work - there was a PCC Resolutton on the 28th of Novèmber that we agmd to the 1•t Phase ofw¢Jrk to bo carri•d out as recommended in tho 2023 Quinquennial Inspection Report. This is to repoint the East end of church and repaird to the Nave roof and Tcwer roof. This work is to be undertaken by Handley 8uilders Group Lld. We are very grateful to Paul Trinerfor all hi& contlnu•d tlm• and ￿ wlth th• 8ulldlng Wo Flnanchl rnvl•w Total receipts on ordinary unrestrkted funds were £30,635 and are detailed in the flnancial statements. In addNk)n ￿CeIpts on restrfcted fabric funds wère £620 and £10,833 of general funds were designated for fabric purposes. Recèipts rela￿Tra to Re5tri¢ted Comrnunfty Centre funds were £47,077. £30,868 was spent to provide the Chrfstlan mlnFStry from St Philip's Church, including 41 % of our contnbutron to the Diocysan Parish Share}, which largely prowdes tlie stipends and housing for the dergy. The sum that churches in the Diocese have to find 1$ sha￿4 acC￿rding to a fomula that takes account of the size of congregations and in￿rne received by PCCS. All fabric related expenditure was booked to the general fund as the policy of bublding up f•briG fund• to m••t lorthcomlno expondlturo was continuad. £40,140 was expended on running the Community Centre. The nèt rèsult for the y•ar wa8 a 8urplu• of receipts ov8r p8ym8nt8 of £17.807. A more detalled revlew of the PCC'S finances 1$ conlalned In tho Trnasurerfg report. Ro8•rvo8 Pollcy A total of £63,331 Is hdd in the Fabrlc Fund, indusiv• of the Unlt shareholdlng valuation, of this £6,866 are Yestricted" fund$. This is held to help fund 13

The balance of £26,514 in the Communty Centre Fund relates largely to the 'sinking fund, (£26,168) whiGh 18 being hdd to fund future rnaior repairs to the Communty Centr•, In 2025 £2,000 was transferred across lo the Slnklng fund, refledng the amount of available Communty centre funds. Th8 PCC has agr88d that wh8re possible 10% of annual Communtty Centre Income will be placed into this fund in future years. £1,181 (rf the overall amounl is SFwJfically for use in maintaining the Comrnunity Dafibrillator. Th8 balan￿ of £2.362 in the Barfow Bequest Fund 18 held to help fund both the maintenance of the Church graveyardlgrounds and the equipment required for any 8uch maint•nance. 14
