Extènt to whlch the audlt was consldered capable of detecting Irregularitles. Including fraud
Our approach lo identifying and assessing the risks of malerial misstatement in respect of iiregularilies, including
fr8ud and non-compliance with laws and regulations, was as follows=
the engagement partner ensured Ihal Ihe engagement team collectively had the 8pproprial8
compe18nc8. capabililies and skills to identify or recognise non-compliance with applicab18 laws and
regulations;
we Identified the law5 and regulations applicable to the charllable company through discusslons wlth
Trustees and other managemenl, and from our knowledge and experience of Ihe sector,.
we focused on specific laws and regulations which we considered may have a dlrect material effect on
the financial slatemenls or the oper21ions of the charitable company, including the Companies Act 2006,
the Charities Act 2011. the Charities SORP. laxalion legislation, data protection, anli-bribery,
employment, envlronmenlal and he8llh and safety legislation.,
we assessed the exlenl of compliance with the laws and regulations Idenllfied above through maklng
enqulries of managemenl and Inspecllng legal correspondence-, and
Idenllfied laws and regulations were communicated wllhin the audil team r8gularly and the team
r8mained alert to Instances of non-compllance throughout lh8 audlt.
We assessed the susceptibility of the charitable company's flnancial slatemenls to malerial mSsstalement,
including obtaining an understanding of how fraud might occur. by..
making enquirles of management as lo where they considered there was SUSC8plibility lo fraud, Ihelr
knowledge of actual. suspected and alleged fraud,. and
considering the Intemal controls In place lo miligale risks of fraud and non-compllance wSlh laws and
regulations.
Audit response to rlsks Identlfied
To address lh8 risk of fr8ud through management blas and override of controls, we:
performed analytical procedures to identify any unusual or unexpected relationships;
revlewed all Iransactions listed:
assessed whether judgemenls and assumptions made In determlning the accounllng estlmales were
Indicalive of potenlial bias; and
Investlgaled the rallonale behind s￿nIficant or unusual transacllons.
In response lo the rlsk of Irregularllles and non-compliance with laws and regulalions. we designed procedures

agreelng flnanclal slatement dIs¢losu￿S to underlylng Supportlng do¢umenlallon,' and
enqulring of managemenl as lo actual and polenlial Illlgation and clalms.
There are Inherent limllalions In our audll procedures described above. The more removed that laws and
regulations are from flnancial transactions, the less likely il is Ihal we would become aware of non-compllance.
Auditing standards also limit the audit procedures required lo identify non-compliance with laws and regulations
lo enquiry of the Trustees and other management and the inspection of regulatory and legal cDrrespondence, if any,
Ma18rlal misslatemenls thal arise due lo fraud can be harder lo delect than those th81 arise from error 8S they may
