programme of exhibitions and outreach has engaged artists. scientists and the general public in a wide range ol
activities. ONCA'S urfoan hxalion is both a challenge and a gilt in tems ol finding ways to reach out lo new diverse
audiences. creating links with local communty action groups. and capturing the imaginations ol passers by. people
local to the region and beyond.

Significant achievements for ONCA in 2022.23 included ongoing delivery of long-temi weekly community projects
such as Dresscue. with its well-appointed community sewing sludio. We also continued to work with the NHS over
this period
strengthening our partnership in the delivery ol staff well-being workshops. We delivered a rich
progr8mme ol artist 5UPPOrt and exhibition5. In thi5 period we pik)led a year4ong programme of Clim8te Cafes to
work wilh our Ioc81 community around e¢￿anxiety.

The statement of financial activities shows a d8ficit for th8 period of £20.452 {2022.' £80,493) Unrestricted reserves
sland at £3.75312022.' £23.5871.
In the reporting period. ONCA held enough reserves to operate the tharity.
Arts Council England did not support thé organisation as a National PortfolK) organis8ts.on l(xJtcom8 rècei￿d in Oct
20221 and as a result of this. stability to the oiganisation had been majody Impacted. It was hoped that a 3yr award
to assist the organisation with core income. Additionally, project funds applied to from ACE were unsuccessful
creating lack ol Confiden￿ in the support lor Ictsl visual arts organisa(K*ns.
We were inc¥edibly lortunate to have received a 3yr support granl from Lankelly Chase Foundation for £50klyr. A
significant amount towards c¥)re costs acted as a key resource for our operdtions.
Despite increased staff capacity for fundraising, the organisation fell the precarious firbancial situation. Competition
lor funds was high las stated in feedback from fundersl.
The Iruslees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed io and are satisfied Ihat systems are in
place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.

Plans for future periods
At the time of creatin9 this report. ONCA have made the decision to dose its Upsiairs co-working space. our
Comrnunity Programme and Gallery. This decision came as a result of drfficulties in obtsining multi-year funding.
and it Was deemed unfe85ible to wntinue O￿TatI￿S in these areas. ONCA wll close as an entity in th8 fin8ncial
y8ar 2024-25.

The ONCA Trust is a ¢harit8blg cornpany limited by guarantee, incA)rpor8ted on 19th September 2012 and
registered as a tharity on 21st January 2013. The cornpany was esiablished under a Memorandurn ofA550cialion,
which established the objects and powers of the tharitable company. The ONCA Gallery Limited was a trading
subsidiary of the ONCA TnJst that was dissolved 18 October 2022. The £100 investment in the subsidiary has been
written off to Sundry costs in the accounts.
