Community Football
rojects
2022 saw Uthink link up with Hibemian Football Club FourKlation. This work allowed
rnembers of the community who were supported by Uthink to acc&ss the foundotions
free cornmunty seryices through their ￿ferra1 prograrnme. Participonts occessed
keep fit classes, community choirs, Christmas day dinner, reminiscence groups, and
community lunch and chat dates, all held at eoster road stodium.
The loundation also provided Uthink with complementary rnatch tickets, allowing
members of our reminiscence groups to attend a football game together.
Uthink also received 550 tickets for
children and families we support to
attend the capital cup finol between
Hibs and hearts ladies ot eoster road
sladium. Providing on opportunity for
many children to attend their first live
match under the lights of o football
stadium where a fantastic night was had
by all.
Our ties have been strengthened this year,
leoding to a colloborative project through
Edinburgh council. Working alongside
teenagers in the Niddrie and Croigmillor
area of Edinburgh, the project focuses on
en90ging young people using football to
build relutionships ond ultimately prevent
anti-social behaviour in the local
comrnuni
Sessions are every Friday evening, 7-9pm
ot Costlebrae High School.

F>izza in the Pari(
Pizza in the park was a project created to follow on from food for
families and develop on its success. With Uthink staff setting up in
the heart of our communities to freshly cook and give out the free
pizzas. The experience made for extremely exciting days for all
members of the community. Picking toppings, watching the cooking
process, and eating the delicious pizza.
Uthink also provided sports equipment for the young people and
families to play together. Making for easy conversional points for
parents and neighbours to chat and form new links and friendships.
Throughout the summer of 2023, more than 5000 slices of pizza
were cooked and handed out, free of charge, to the community-
Delivering family days at Craigour Park and Prestonfield Primary
Schools, as well as family events over the school summer holidays.

'Wtbink Walking Football
Since 2023 Uthink have developed a partnership with
Edinburgh City Walking Football Club. Working With men a9ed
50-80 years. A football tournament day was arranged for them
to face Castlemilk senior citizens community group of Wheatley
Homes {Stronger Voices). The matches were played at ToryGlen
National Development Centre at Hamden Park, Glasgow. A total
of 42 men from ocross Edinburgh and Glas9ow participated in
the tournament day. A private coach then transferred them to
our gallery space on the Clyde for food, drinks, music and
shared stories. A genuinely fantastic occasion for all involved.
Something we plan to now run on an annual basis. The day was
f inished by all porticipants once again being transferred by
coach to The Park Bar. Where the men enjoyed a well-earned
beer and singsong with the live music on offer. Offering a great
platforrn for inclusion, confidence and new found friendships

Easter Egg Drive
Uthink's annual easter egg drive once again
saw over1200 easter eggs being distributed to
local schools, nurseries, and community
groups.
The eggs were handed out during Uthink's
easter parties where we provided music,
games, and entertainment, whilst spreading
some easter joy to families living in some of
the most disadvantaged areas.
Eggs were doated across several sites
including, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife,
Skelmersdale and Barnsley.

Uthink are unique in that we offer tailored volunteering
and development opportunities whilst providing
accommodation to vulnerable aduLts when all other
housing options have been exhausted.
We work with statutory bodies and a variety of charities in
finding accommodation for those who require housing
related support over and above what is provided by a
standard landlord.
Uthink have Schemes in Barnsley, Newton Le Willows,
Haydock and The Wirral, each with its own unique
surroundings and facilities.
We have bee keeping, apple orchards, and a variety of
gardens to engage our tenants in many physical and
mental weLlbeing activities.

Client
Testimony
"I would just like to thank the whole team at Uthink for all the
help and support that you have given me over the last 18
months.
Firstly you gave me a home and prevented me from being
homeless. I was on the brink mentally and I don't think I would
be here today if you haven't have given me the opportunity at
the time you did.
You helped me to become more independent and give me
belief that I can live the best life I can.
Words can't express how great full l am, and I hope that you
all continue the good work and are able to help others as
much as you have helped me."
Feedback from one of our supported
tenants

Plans for
