The trustees present its report and financial statement for the year ended 31 December 2021.
Structure, Governance and Management
We are a registered charitable organisation since 14 January 2013. The charity is controlled by its governing document and a deed of trust.
Recruitment and resignation of trustees
Trustees are appointed by nomination by the board of trustees when the need arises. There are no new trustees appointed during the year.
However, one of the board of trustees’ members- Mr. Bawor Omatseye resigned his position on 30/09/2021.
Organisational structure
The ultimate responsibility with respect to strategic planning, direction and decisions of the charity lies solely on the board of trustees. The day to day running of the charity lies with the senior Pastor who is accountable to the board.
The trustees meet periodically and give their time voluntarily with no financial benefits from the charity.
Risk Management
The trustees being mindful of the risks especially those related to operations and finances of the charity have put in place systems and controls to mitigate exposure to the major risk. These systems are reviewed from time to time.
Objectives and activities
The aim of the charity is principally to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations of the world and relief of poverty. We also endeavour to advance some charitable causes within our local community. The activities of the church are geared towards achieving the aims of the charity. Weekly services are held twice- Wednesdays and Sundays with a monthly night vigil held on the last Friday of the month. This was moved online since on March 23 2020 due to National Lockdown. Presently, the church is still meeting online until the Lockdown is eased by the government.
A significant percentage of the charity income is voted to world missionary agency to aid the spread of the gospel while the indigent are helped in line with the objectives of the charity. Furthermore, the church made a financial contribution to Exeter Food Bank during the lockdown to assist the charity in distributing food to the Homeless and those financially distressed in Exeter.
Location of the Charity
The current location of the charity is: The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Glory of God Parish St Sidwells Chapel St. Sidwells Community Centre St. Sidwells Street, Exeter EX4 6NN But the church will be moving to another location later this month. REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD
GLORY OF GOD PARISH EXETER Reports and Financial Statements Independent Examiner's report to the Trustees
Year Ended 31 December 2021
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the above period.
Responsibilities and basis of report:
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement:
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
