Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
The Danny Green Fund has continued to provide support for children
suffering from Posterior Fossa Syndrome as the result of a brain tumour
throughout the UK. We expect the increase in referrals received in
2023/2024 to continue into 2024/2025.
The charity has seen very positive results from the therapies that we
have provided this year. The children taking part have continued to show
increased balance, core strength and mobility which will ultimately help
them to achieve their goals of becoming more independent and waking
unaided once again. We aim to continue these therapies going forward.
We are also looking to increase the variety of therapies that we are able
to offer going into 2025.
This year the charity was also able to provide power wheels to upgrade a
teenagers wheelchair to enable her to self-propel her wheelchair in
school enabling her to participate in school life more independently. The
charity also worked with cyclists fighting cancer to fund a trike for a
youngster who struggles with balance and to walk independently to
enable him to participate in fun family days out.
The charity has received fundraising donations from organisations
outside of our immediate area therefore spreading awareness of the
work of the charity.
The Posterior Fossa Syndrome parents support group on Facebook
continues to be a great success in offering help and support for parents
with children suffering from PFS in the UK and from around the world.
We have created an increased awareness of the signs and symptoms of a
brain tumour through our fundraising and our social media, highlighting
the need for safer less toxic treatments and to ultimately find a cure for
this devastating disease. The charity has once again sponsored days of
dedicated brain tumour research at Queen Mary Hospital, London to
hopefully help find a cure.
The charity has continued to receive revenue and created increased
awareness through individual fundraising, through just giving, PayPal and
through our Social Media sites, which we hope will continue in 2024/25.
This year has seen an increase in the opportunity to fundraise compared
to last year and we look forward to this progressing into 2024/2025.
The charity held our yearly charity ball in September which was
extremely well attended as usual and was another very successful
fundraising evening.
