Summary of the main
activities undertaken for
the public beneft in
relation to these objects
(include within this
section the statutory
declaration that trustees
have had regard to the
guidance issued by the
Charity Commission on
public beneft)
The Danny Green Fund provides therapies such as
physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, swimming
sessions or horse riding therapies to assist rehabilitation of
children sufering from disabilities as the result of Posterior
Fossa Syndrome. PFS is a possible complication that can be
seen in up to 25% of children following brain tumour
surgery to the back of the skull.
This year The Danny Green Fund has increased its
provision of equipment to help recovery from this
devastating syndrome, helping the children we support to
regain some of the independence lost since their
diagnosis.
The charity also raises funds to increase brain tumour
awareness & funding for brain tumour research.
We are delighted that we were able to provide Christmas
gifts for children staying on the various wards at Great
Ormond Street Hospital along with gifts for the children
staying in our local hospital this year.
The deliveries were made to the hospitals for the staf to
hand out the gifts rather than the charity trustees as the
rules within each hospital have now changed as the result
of Covid.
The trustees of The Danny Green Fund have fully complied
with their duty to have due regard to the charity
commission public beneft guidance when making
decisions in respect to main activities undertaken by the
charity.
We have received numerous messages of thanks from
families whose children are sufering from PFS for the
support and advice given both personally, through our
Facebook page and through our website.

All referrals received are checked with the child’s consultant to confirm their condition and the type of therapies that would best aid each child’s individual recovery.

2022 has been a difficult year for the charity following COVID and the increased cost of living but we are very grateful to everyone who has continued to promote and fundraise for the charity.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main The Danny Green Fund has continued to provide support achievements of the for children suffering from Posterior Fossa Syndrome as the charity during the year result of a brain tumour throughout the UK. We expect the increase in referrals received in 2022 to continue into 2023.

The charity has seen very positive results from the therapies that we have provided this year. The children taking part have continued to show increased balance, core strength and mobility which will ultimately help them to achieve their goals of becoming more independent and walking unaided once again. We aim to continue these therapies going forward.

The Posterior Fossa Syndrome parents support group on Facebook continues to be a great success in offering help and support for parents with children suffering from PFS in the UK and from around the world.

We have created an increased awareness of the signs and symptoms of a brain tumour through our fundraising and our social media, highlighting the need for safer less toxic treatments and to ultimately find a cure for this devastating disease. The charity has once again sponsored days of dedicated brain tumour research at Queen Mary University of London Brain Tumour Research Centre to hopefully help find a cure.

The charity has continued to receive revenue and created increased awareness through individual fundraising, through just giving, virgin giving, PayPal l and through our Social Media sites, which we hope will continue in 2023.

This year has seen an increase in fundraising from last year. This was mainly due to 2022 being the year that Danny would have been 21 along with the charity operating for 10 years.

A 21 mile bike ride to celebrate what should have been Danny’s 21[st] birthday year was a great success with so many friends and supporters taking part and fundraising to support the work of the charity during this special year.
