Good evening everyone and welcome to our anwort
Memorial Hall AGM. We held some very popular events this
year.
In May we held a celebration for the King's Coronation which
brought many people from the two villages together. Then, in
July, we spent a lovely summers evening enjoying Cocktails on
the Common. In October our Open Weekend was held,
showcasing the wonderful facilities we now have, following the
hall's renovation. This created a lot of interest from people
inside and outside the village, potentially wanting to hire the
hall. November saw us holding our annual Remembrance
Service. Closing the year on a festive note, December saw us
singing our hearts out at Carols on the Common.
Now, our hall isn't just a place; it's like our community living
room. We've got our regulars - Chair Pilates keeping us in
shape, the Warm Hub and Cakes on the Common bringing
many in the community together, along with the Bridge Club
and the Percussion Group.
Our hall is also being used for important meetings- from local
councils like Hanworth with Gunton, Sustead, Besingham, and
Metton, to Commons Committee gatherings, and even hosting
Local Elections.
I would like to thank those involved in securing many grants

this year, for all their hard work. Their work has resulted in
grants from Garfield Weston, the Norfolk Community Fund, the
Foyle Foundation and a Norfolk Community Grant. We also
received funds f rom the PayPal Giving Fund.
We have almost finished the renovation of the building this
year. The addition of the wonderful verandah has made the hall
both more accessible and allows outdoor use in the summer.
I would like to thank everyone who gets involved at the hall,
with fundraising events, regular community gatherings and
those who have helped with building work both inside and
outside the hall. To everyone here and those who couldn't
make it, you're the heart and soul of Hanworth Memorial Hall.
Let's hope the community will continue to use this wonderful
facility and the hall will go from strength to strength.
