NPN CEO’s report 2023
Neighbourhood Prayer Network had a stable year financially, with a growth of 11% in income. The charity benefitted from it’s new rationalised database, where we have verified over 4,000 people’s details. We also upgraded our mapping software on our website www.neighbourhoodprayer.net and added an active crime overlay, which links directly into the Police UK crime database. So our members can see the crime in their local area within the last four weeks of when they look. This enables people to consider what is happening around them and pray into the issues that information provides.
A difficult situation for the year was removing the UK Director from his post after six months due to gross misconduct. It took a few months to settle the rest of the staff down, as they themselves understood what had happened. I’m pleased to say that the team was back on track by the end of the year.
In the second half of the year, we were pleased to run Prayer Week with our friends at The World Prayer Centre. We also continued our media work with interviews on Revelation TV, UCB 1, UCB 2, Revelation TV, Trans World Radio, Praise FM, and BBC local radio.
We also benefited from our publishers, who made the ‘Bitesized Belief’ series of six study guides for new Christians for free. This investment of resources into NPN is valued at over £8,000. The series was written by one of our Trustees, Stephen Derges, who received free stock for his distribution in the South West of England.
We also worked with our website developer to create the software framework and websites for Nigeria and the USA. This is in response to growing interest in the NPN vision from overseas. More on this activity next year.
I’m very pleased with NPN's progress during the year despite the challenges along the way. We have a very loyal team dedicated to what they do.
