CHAIRMAN & TRUSTEES REPORT 2025
It has been a strong academic year to date, highlighted by an international fixture in June. A mixed team of schools and university players faced a US intercollegiate side.
The University Winter Nationals were initially expected to attract slightly fewer teams than last year; however, once again, expectations were surpassed. Team numbers rose significantly to 126 in 2025. The greatest growth has come from Beginner teams, which bodes extremely well for the future of our segment of the sport.
Our Summer Nationals, with the 94 teams that competed in 2025 is now set as the benchmark to beat. We are well on track to exceed this figure by the close of entries on Friday.
We have also successfully delivered on our commitment not to raise prices during the 2024–25 academic year. SUPA membership remains at £65 per year, with entry fees also held at £65 across all university divisions. While core operating costs have risen slightly, these increases have been offset by higher participation levels.
