worship. These gatherf￿Js take each Sunday, normally at 10.30 a.m. There are also occaslonal

The Church continues to rm a series of small groups for the grovrth of faith and dlscipleship in the
1￿Me8 of Some members, virtually onllnè or the Churth premises. Further d8taM8 can b8 obtainecl
from the Trustses on raqu8st Of at tre Sunday wor8hip gatharinos.

locallty to expk)re th8ir artistic lal8nlS. Thursday momings Is the Ilm8 for an expanding group of ladles
to meet to share tt)eir k)ve of knltting and simllar craft bvork. This gr¢)up of ladies, calling themsefves
'Knitted Togetherf maet at the church.
Th& Sausag8 Sizz18 was run again outside the Church All Hallows Eve as an altemative lo
Halloween. Towards the and of November, the Church again ran a Christmas Fayre on the church
emises. The Artless Thaatre Company was invited back to thg church at Chn'stmas tc) present their
oduction of'Amos and the GNmpy 0￿￿, over two performances as part of a Chri8tingl8 presentation
where ft explaine(J the significan￿ of the blrth of J8SU3. This was w811 attended by both members of
Ihe congregatlon and unthLTGhed families in ts lo¢al community.

by provldlng helpful boxes lor pxople being housed in short temi accommod8tK•n. Tlwe tjoxes

Foodbank.
Tho Falth, Hop and Charlty Shop, contknues to b6 run by lh6 Church tradkng arm, 'HBC Shop
Tradlng Ltd,. The alm of the Shop Is to ralse funds for the work of the Church and for local charltable
purposes and the Artlcles of Incokporation of the company requwe that all profit is passed tt> the chu￿h.
Th8 Church th8n allocates 10% of the shop's income from donations to the Deslgnated Shop Tlthe
fund used to support local tharltable purposes, alth￿gh we have also used It to match dol￿tIOnS at
the thurch and the shop towards emergency International ap￿18. Wllhln the shop, space18 provlded
for book Salgs and seatlng where customers can just slt and obtain a hot drink. Space Is also provld8d
wlthh th8 exMded slK)p for storage for the Foodbank, so that distrlbution can take place from the
chaiity shop and tako advatrtage of the better publlc transport aGcess.
ohurch has also continued to develop its Community Hub, a small unit at 37 Hedlngham Platte
dose to the Charity Shop which ts church has laased to wavlda four small m88tlng rooms that (xn

based uS06. Towards the end ol the year thg church was offered a lease on 37a Hedingham PlaGe,

The Churth Is haavlty dependent on its membership worklng as volunteors in all asp8cls of the
Church's aclivlties, many t)f which run wlth Illl18 or no impact on the Church's eXp￿￿tUr• but
nevertheless contribute 8ub8tanb.ally to the achiavament of the Churth's oblectlves.
In addrtI￿ to the Ministor, the oiri¢* staff indudès a part tlme admlnlslrator and a self-employed
bookkéeper. Tho Church also employs, part timq two Caretakerl Cl8mrs cov8rlrYJ both th8 Church
and trp13ook HUB. In Seplember 2024 th8 cleankng contract for ts maln church slte was awarcled
to 'Nealwork8'.

The Church 8xpr88sed its part In the life of the wider church during 2024 by making grants from all
funds totalling £9,040 (2023, £9,034) to natlonal and Intematlonal Chflsttan 0￿{Sa1km8 wlth
Christian aims and objectsves compatible wilh the Church's ovm charitable obpcts. The Shop Tithe
finl distribLrted £5,451 (2023, £11,197). This included regular mlsslon 8UPPOrt of £1200 ID the
Southend CAP Dd)t Advlce Centre, and support for k)rnl people in need. The Shop Tithè 18 also
being used to glve limited bursarie$ to people seeking counselling at the Community HUB, but urk2ble
to meet ts full cost, £2.155.
