TAMU SAMAJ UK’S TIHAR DEUSHI/BHAILO PROGRAMME ON 29TH

TAR

OCTOBER 2022.

Tamu Samaj UK celebrated the auspicious occasion of Tihar, the second biggest festival of Nepalese, by performing deushi bhailo, just like in previous years.

The programme took place on Saturday, 29[th] October 2022, at the Nepalese community centre of Tamu Samaj UK, in Barham Park, Wembley London. Deushi Bhailo is a traditional Nepali cultural activity that is performed during autumn season to preserve Nepali culture and traditions. It spreads a positive message about the rich culture to the new generation and strengthens the bond between members of society and well-wishers. Moreover, it collects financial support for the social building of Tamu Samaj UK.

The programme garnered significant participation and generous donations from the people. Although the bhailaris (deushi bhailo participants) couldn’t go from house to house due to their busy work schedules and lack of time, all the members and well-wishers who had leisure gathered together at their community centre and donated generously.

Some members and well-wishers who could not participate in the program also donated through online banking. Tamu Samaj UK President Shivakumar Gurung and Mother Group Chairperson Uma Devi Gurung expressed their gratitude to the donors and wished them a happy Tihar.

Thanks to the spontaneous participation, support, and contribution of all those motivated by the spirit of helping their society's sacred cause, this time too, the organisation collected a significant amount of about £4383.00 in donations. It reflects the mutual understanding, diligence, and strong unity among the members and well-wishers of the society.

The function was presided over by Tamu Samaj UK President, Shivakumar Gurung.
