Our independence allows us lo assess dients on a case-by<ase basis and make individual
recommendations fortherapy accordingty. We often find that the most marginalised and cornplex in%Yividuals
requi￿ long4erm specialist therapy wlh our more experitir￿ed practitioners. rather than the 4-12 sessions
of CBT or counselling available through the NHSIIAPT.

charitable fund. Refugees and others eligible for full fundiThJ are offered a free initial consultatK)n.

using funding secuied from charitsble trusts, ststutory grants and BTC'S Internal Charitable fund.

here, a large number of people can and will pay a full fee for high quality therapy. Our standard therapy fees
are similaf to those of private therapists in the local area. and we ￿inVeSt any profit we make into providing
no<ost and Iow-COSt therapy to disadvanlaged locaj people who cannot afford the standard fees. This
enables our fvll-fee paying clients lo support their cornmunty al the same time as thking after their own
menlal health.
The model is clinically safe, adhering to BACP and UKCP ethical frameworks. Practitioners ￿Ceive h@h
levels of supeThision and a￿ provided Mth ongoing CPD opportunib"es. The management team are
supported by an extemal supervisor and dinical govemance group. Information Govemance rneets the
ighest standards following the developfflenl of a bespoke MS Dynamics dinical system.

We have minimised our carbon footprint by recyding and focusing our services on clients in the local a￿a
lo reduce travel lo and Irorn our centre. We also SUPPOrt green commuting by prov￿Ing a nearby
designated bike shed for pr8ctitioners who cyde to work and desire a sheltered space for secvre bicyde
slorage. Online theiapies have helped to feduce travel by Clients and practitioners still further. We have
continued some online services after restrictions We￿ lifted to keep our carbon footprint as low as
possible.

BTC has a number of practitioners who are experienced in working wlh LGBTQ+ dients. We h8ve
practitioners who are fluent in Spanish. French, Iialian aNJ Arabic. We have 10 rninority ethnic
praclitioners and conlinue to reath out to prospective minority ethnic pracblioners Considering making an

Working for our local community
B TC continues lo offer dinical supemsion and c¢Jnsullation to a number of Ic￿1 or9anisations. We have

Though the Covid-19 pandemic continued to impact both the demand for mentsl health services and the
ability ol our praclilioners to provide therapy in 2022. we boih maintaine(J current safetyenhancing

Brighton Therapy Centre Limited is a private company limited by guarantee incorporated in Ewland and
Wales. The registered office is 4th Floor. Park Gate, 161-163 Preston Road. Brighton, BN1 6AF.
1.1 Accounting convention
The accounls have been prepared in accordance wilh the charitys Memorarbdum and Articles of Association,
the Companies Act 2006 and -A¢wunb"ng and ReporDng by Charities." Statement ol Recommended Practice
applicabl& to charili*s preparing their accounts in accordance wth the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republi¢ of Ireland IFRS 1021- The ¢harity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by
FRS 102.
The charity ha$ taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for Charities app￿"ng FRS 102 Update
lelin 1 not to prepa￿ a Slalement of Cash Fbws.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling. vlhich is the lunetional currency of the charity. M¢fjetary
amounts in these finanual statements are rounded to the newest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost ¢onvention. The prinupal accwnting

Tangible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured al cost or valuation, net ol
depretxation and any impairment lows.

contractual provisions of the instnjment.
