encompasses the nature of incL)me and expenditure streams. the need lo match income wilh

The trustees proposed a policy that the charity should hokl a level of ￿seNeS, namely those not held
for a 5pecrfic purpose, which is equivalent to no less than 32-weeks operating costs. 11 has become
common practice for Junction 42 to have long periods of ¥Jnfvnded prow5K*n due to the change in

Since January 2022 we have been out of contract with Ihe DWP 8nd have used Ihese reseives lo
ensure conlinualion of provision to our serviGe users. This has 18ken us below 32 weeks, reSe￿e$, and
we anticipate being below 32 weeks in the coming year, but no Iowgr than 12 w8eks. We aim to restore
our reserv8s level in the lulure by securing a wider portfolio of contractual r4)portunrtles.

As stated in note 16 to the accounts. we have ieceived confirm8tion that conlra¢ts held with the
Department for Work and Pensions would not be renewed in the 2022r23 financial year. We have built
up reserves in recent years lo mitigate this potential loss of this income. Our plans for 2023123 regardir
this are lo broaden cMJr income streams lo redu¢$ our reliance on short lenn contracts stabilise our
income. We are doing this by growing our in-prison and probatK)n contract opportunities and
significanlty increasing our grant inwme. havlng secured various grants for 2022123 and some 3-year
