How Our Activities Deliver Publk Benefit
Jubilee Church holds weekly meetings in Coventry on a Sunday at the Henry Fry Centre in Coventry city cent￿. There

online. From September 2021 the church started to meet in person on Sunday mornings and. from Novem￿r. in two
location5 in thectty. still followir4thevarious Secure guidelines as they developed overthe course of the year.
The majority of people within Jubilee are part of a small group. These small groups are designed to provide a context for
communrty in the Church where people can get to know each other better. We con5iderthi5 to be more and more
import3nta5 the Church 8rows. These groups continued to meet but primarily online for the majority of the year.
Jubilee Church continues to provide 5UPPQrtto the thurch in Cambodia. The leadership of the Church has been passed
over to a Khmer leadenhip team b￿Jub11ee will continue their support through Andrew who has been appointed as the
apostolic oversight of the Church. This supportwill continue to be tN)th financial suptw)rt directly to the Church and
pastoral visits when overseas travel returns. Jubilee Church has continued to develop it5 relationship with churches in
Bosnia & Henegovina and Croatia. Durin8 2021Andrew Simpkins was able to visrf( Croatia. howeverthe majority of
support was financial SUPFQrt by funding some of the expetb5es of one of the in country leaders as he serves Churches

Jubilee Church continues ro provide service5forthe beneftof those in the C￿v0f Coventry this is mainly in the form of

Fi￿nc[al Review
Jubilee Church made a Surplus of £30k duri1¥ 2021. This i5 a £34k surplu5 on unrestrirted hJnd5 and £4k deficit on
restrirted funds.
Restrirted funds are mainly due to gift5 received land the associated gift aid) fora buildin8 and our work with the wor.
The Church has £414k towards premises. We would also lookto spend a st8nificant proportion of the £218k held in
general reser¥es.
Going Concem and cov1￿19 Pa￿n¥t
The Trustees have continued to monitorthe Chur(h finance5to ensure that we are able to meet our commitrnents and
thus remain ¥ going concern. fhere has been a modest improvement in income Itirca 3%1 alongside a reduction in costs
saved when not meetin8together in person. thus during the pandemic the ongoing finartial position improved from
£8k defiot in 2019 to E30k surplus in 2021. The Trustees will continueto monitorthe income and adjust the cost base
appropriately rf needed. We hold unrestricled cash reserves which equate to 8 months expenditure. Havir8 considered
these fattors we still consider the charity to be a gosngcorKem.
lrtve5tment Polity
Surplus tunds are reviewed on a regular basis and where available inve5teil within intÈre5t bearing bank account5. The
aims of the investment policy 3re to maximise the returns achieved subject to minrmal risk and requirementto
maintain 5horr term availability of all funds.
Grants Pdi¢v
Jubilee is not primarily a grant givin8 chartty- H¢)wever, the Church does seek to be generous and supiKJrt a number of
other organisations with similar aims arml obje(iives.Jubilee &ryves re8ularlyto the Catalyst Network of Churche5, to
Hope Coventry and to 5UPPOrt thework of the Church in Cambodia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
ReseNes Polity
Jubilee Church aims to hold the equivalent of three mnths expendrture asgeneral reserwes. The attual level is
signrficantly hr8herthan this as it is egwisaged they wtll be used towards funding a building within Coventry.

location5 in thectty. still followir4thevarious Secure guidelines as they developed overthe course of the year.

## **Independent Examiners Report**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Jubilee Church, Coventry for the year ended 31 December 2021.

As the charity's trustees (who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law), you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

## **Responsibilties and basis of report**

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

The charity’s gross income exceeded £250,000 and I am qualified to undertake the examination by being a fellow member of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

- I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
