and comply with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) and the applicable law.
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE ASSOCIATION
Soma]i Banadir Association in UK (SBAUK) was founded on 22nd Novem￿r 201 l and ¢stslished
as Islami¢ Welfar¢ A$so¢iation Daara'ri'aaya for catering for the need of young people who are
starving during and after th¢ political crises of Somalia.
NSTITUTION OBJECTIVES AND ORGANIS

TRUCTURE
The trustees made all the decision5 regarding allocation of fvnds and activities. The Board of tn]stees
are comprised of the Chaiman. Secretary of the Association. and the Treasurer.
The charity is independently constituted under a Constitution adoptcd on 2nd Octobei 2012 and is
UK registered Charity number 1149719 on the Central Register of the Charity Commission for
England and Wales. The objectives of the charity as set out tn the Constitution are-
(a) to promote any charitable purpose5 for benefit of the Somali Banadir Community especially
(but not ex¢lusiv¢ly) for young people in the United Kingdom and the world at large.
{b) to reliev¢ poverty and persons in condition of b)ains. hardship or are aged and Jor sick.
(¢} the advancernent of education and the promotion of health and w¢ll-beiTtg of the community.
(d) to improve the conditions and quality of life of the mernbers of the community. improve th¢ir
physi￿] welfare so that they may grow to fulfil their potentials in the Community.
The Somali Banadir Association in UK (SBAUKI was involved in educational improvement activities
designed to increase members, awareness of th¢ opportunities available in education. These ouirthch
activities are organi5ed locally in London and other n￿1￿ cities in th¢ United Kingdom.
HIEVEMENIS AND PERFORMANCE
The prin¢ipal a¢tivities of the Charity during the period under review are Education, Etncrgen¢y Reliefs
and employment creation. The BAR￿￿RujINyA BAHWEYKfA BANAADIR UK organised some
meetings and ev¢nÉ5 where issues affecting the comrnunity members are discussed wÈth solutions.
Somali Banadir Association in UK are ¢urrently engaged in emergency relief efforts and Small S¢ale
development proj¢¢ts undertaken in Somalia for the support and welfare of the helpless and wgr vi¢tims.
Relief efforts and w¢lfar¢ undertaken in Stsmalia in¢ludes support for the poor families, basic
¢du¢ational support for the children and supplies of educational resources for the needy.
The long terni goal of the Solnali BanadiT Community is to enable the poor and the needy people to
be¢om¢ economically self-relianÈ. politi¢E411y exposed and education￿lY enhan¢ed.

PUBLIC BENEFIT REPORTING
The trustee5 of the Somali Banadir Association paid due r¢gard to the Charity CoTntnission'5 guidance
on public ber]efit and members of the public are not restricted from benefitting through the following
charitable activities.
Public CouDsellin
The Somali elders and professionals in Banadir Association are well infornied and committed to
enabling the community in London and rest of UK to benefst frotn public counselling of the Somali
virtues and cultural heritage. Thts is achieved through periodic counselling services available to any
member ofthe public including old people, singi¢ par¢nts and the hop¢l¢ss.

ment
Youth development activitses are undertaken by using Somalia culturai heritage and Societal values
to raise public awareness in irnproving their morality, education and wellbeing in the society.
The A550viation supports the young people to oryanise rrips to hsstorscal aJ)d educaiional centres and etTortg ate
geared to bring offending and socially-displaced youth back to normal life and made them returned
into their educational pursuÈts.
Sporting and re¢reatÈonal actLVities are also Organis￿ for the young people for their personal physical
fitthess and career deyeltspment.

The Trnstees have assessed the Major risks to which the Association is exposed particularly those
rtlating to the operdtions and finance and are Satisfied with the risk management systems in pla¢¢ to
mitiwe the risk exposure to the Association.
RLVIEW (TrF'fHTr. FIYANC.IAL POSITION
The net incoming resource$ for the year amounted to a surplus fvnd of £6.475 and all of which are
set against the unrestricted r¢s¢rves of the charity.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLANS
The current year 2024 and 2025 will see a continued emphasis on achieving the main charitable
objects of ihe Association. Th¢r¢ are ¢on¢luded plans of the tNste¢s to-.
(a) Secure new Tneettng venues where additional welfar¢ a¢tivities can be organised, (b) Improve on
the membership strength of the Association by ¢oordinating more charitable activities (¢} Inaugurate
more bran¢es in the major Cities of UK during year5 2024 and 2025.

9. CONNECTED AND RELATED PARTY DISCLOSURES
The Association has a very ¢lose relationship with Mr Hassan Abuukar, who is the twins brother of
Mr Hussein Muridi { 8 ITuslee).
Mr Hassan Abuukar is one of the founding fathers of the Asso¢iatton (SBAUK) and both have not
received any trustee's remunerntions from the beginning of the Association to 31st March 2023.
Mr Hassan Abuukar is on full time service to the Association.
