Report of the Trustees for the Year Ended 31 March 2025
The Trustees are pleased to present their annual directors, report togeiher with the financial statements of the
charity for the year ending 31 March 2025 which are also prepared to meet the requirements for a directors,
report and accounts for Companies Act purposes.
The fmancial statements comply with the Charities Act 201 I, the Companies Act 2006, the Memorandum and
Articles of Association, and Accounting Reporting By Charities- Statement of R¢comm¢nd¢d Practice
applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial ReportÉng Standards for
Smaller Entities in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) (effective l January 2015).

directors, subject to the requirements of charity law.

Trustees, responsibilities in relalion to the financial statements
The charity trustees (who are also the directors of the Signpost (Stafford) for the purpose of company law)
are responsible for preparing a trustees, annual report and financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice).
Company law requires the charity trustees to prepare financial statements for each year which give a true
and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company at ihe end of the financial year and of the
incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure of the charitable
company for the period ending on that date. In preparing the fmancial slatementS, the trustees are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them con515tently'
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP.

state whether applicable UK accounting stsndards have been followed, subject to any
material departures disclosed and explained in Ihe financial statements.

The trustees are responsible for kecping proper accounting records thai disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time th¢ financial position of the charity and to enable Ih¢m lo ensure that Ihe
financial slalements comply with ihe Charilies Acl 201 l and part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.
They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detectton of fraud and oiher irregularities.
Reserve Poliey
Et iy the Charity's policy lo maintain funds equivalent to a minimum of three month expenditure to provide
s¢¢urity of operation should grant ￿ndIng be delayed or deferred for any reason. Reserves are held in a mixture
of short term bonds and an inslant access savings account to maximise the interest earned on the chai'ity's
funds.
Risk Management
The directors have examined the prlnciple areas of the companls op¢ralions and considered the major
risks, which may arise in these areas. In the opinion of the directors. the company has established
resources and review systems which under norn)al conditions should allow the risks identified by them
to be mitigated to an acceptable level in its day to day operation.

The charitable company is entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 for the year ended
31 March 2025.
The members have not required the charitable ¢ompany to obtain an audit of its financial statements for th¢ year ended
31 March 2025 in accordance with Section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
Th¢ directors acknowledges their responsibilities for .
ensuring that the charitable company keeps accounting records which comply with Section 386 and 387 of the
Companies Act 2006 and.
b) preparing fmancial statements which give a true and fair view of th¢ state of affairs of the charitable ¢ompany,
as at the end of each financial year and its profit or loss for each fulancial year in accordance with the
requirements of Section 394 and 395 and whlch otherwise comply with the requirement of the Compani¢s

I ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The principal accounting policies adopted, judgements and key sources of estimations uncertainty
in the preparation of the financial statemenls are as follows-.
Basis of Accountlng
The fmancial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Repoiting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Practice Applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)
(effective l January 2015) - (Charities SORP (FRS102)). the Financial Reporting Slandard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) and the Companies Act 2006.
Signposts (Stafford) meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are
initially recognised at historical cost or Iransaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting
policy note(s).

Grants, are recognised in full in the Statement of Financial Activities in the year in which they are received,
Resources Expended
Resources expended are recognis¢d in the period in which they are incurred. Attributable VAT is included,
which ¢annot be reclaimed. Resources expended are attributed lo the particular activity lo which they relate.

The company received charitable status on 12 November 2012 under number 1149703.
3 TAXATION STATUS
The Charity is exempt from tax on incorne and gains falling within section 505 of the Taxes Act 1988 or section
252 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 to the extent tlLat tllese are applied to its charitable objects.
