Achievements and Performance
SORP rèference
Over the year to 31¥1 March 2025 a total of 265
bookbinding sessions were attended by
veterans erther in person or on-line. Of these
sessions, 205 were introductory and 60 were
City & Guilds (C&G> courses ranging from
Levels 1 to Level 3. The increase in
attendance of C&G courses is a positive trend
which ultimately improves rehabilitation, and
sets a path lo re-employment in the wider
community, as well as offering therapeutic
respite from daily stress and illness.
At 31 gt March 2025 we had 6 veterans
engaged in their three year Level 3 Diploma,
one of whom has since achieved this
qualrfication with Mertt. The Diploma is the
equivalent of an HND in craft bookbinding.
This person has found work with the National
Army Museum archives and is in charge of a
conservation project there, working one day a
week. This is an enormous achievement for
the individual concemed.
We are also proud to accept commissions for
products, usually notebooks, made by a varied
team of BBV veterans to raise funds for the
charity. For Christmas 2024 a team worked
together to create 50 specialty designed
notebook5 for the Master of the Worshipful
Company of Stationers to give as gifts. The

Our objective is not only to offer the
therapeutic health benefits of craft
bookbinding, but to promote the employability
and education of veterans. As detailed above
we have successfully engaged a significant
number of veterans who are achieving
qualifications and employment as well as
finding a new community where they feel safe
and valued.

objectives set
Para 1,41
We have achieved all sponsorship applied for
in this period and have had particular success
with the Tesco Bags of Help scheme where
from multiple painstaking applications and
consequent awards from local supermarkets
we have raised over 1 OK to date.

Review of the charity's
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21
The charity remains in a healthy financial
position wrth successful bids for grants as well
as money raised by the veterans through
product sales. The latter is particularly
beneficial to the charity as these funds are
unrestricted. Through a later than usual
payment of the grant supporting the workshop
manager post we had a higher balance than
usual at the end of the reporting year but the
charity had already managed to cover this
expenditure with reseNe fundin9.

The principle rlsks to the operation of the
charity are loss of funding and lack of volunteer
support. The reserve is in place to support
training for 12 months should the former
happen and we are active in maintaining a
healthy body of volunteers to aid our activities
by holding regular meetings and events to
continue and consolidate existing and engage
new support.
