The organisolion is a charitable company limtted by guarant*. incorporated on the 31 July
2012 and registered as a charity on Ihe 24 October 2012 with the Charty Commission of
England and Wales. The company was eslablished under a Memorandum of Association
which eslablished Ihe objeds and powers of the charilable company and is govemed under
its Articles of Associalion.

Organisalional Structure
The charity is governed by a Board of TruSt￿S, thich detenmines Ihe overall direction of Ihe
charity and monilors the financial and charitable adivilies of the charity. The Truslees have
delegated the day-to4ay running of the charity to the Executtve Director. The Executive Director
reports lo the Trusl*s. with a minimum of thr￿ TruSt￿S M￿lIngS a year.
Appoinlmenl of Trustees
Nomes of potential new Trustees are put forward lo the Executive Diredor and lo the existing
Trustees. Candidates are then inteDiiewed by Ihe Executive Diredor and at least one other
existing Trustee, final appointmenl is then agreed by all existing Truslees. A formal offer is
made, and acceptance also made in writing. The resolution provides for a minimum of three
Trustees.
Reserve's Policy
The Trustees set up o policy so Ihot os an orgonisolion, WiklTeom will hold unrestricted
reserves equol lo approximately ￿ ￿nthS of operolionol costs in order to protect the charity
from any fluctuotion in income levels. This omounl is held in o seporale sovings occounl from
the main operating charty current accounl.
Risk management
As port of our organisational ond projecl rwnagemenl processes. WildTeam regularly reviews
and asses*s the risks faced by the charty in all areas of ils work and plans for Ihe
managemenl of Ihose risks. WildTeam conducts a full operational risk assessment onnvally.
This assessmenl idenlifies the main risks lo which Ihe charity is exposed, assessing bolh its
likelihood and impact, and developing preventative measures and miligoling action plans. The
Trustees will reporl on the mojor factors and risks outgde of Ihe charity's control if there is any
Ihol may affect achieving our objedives.

Knowledge. We create best pradices in subjects such as projed management and projed
plonning. These are provided for free os a kn￿edge bose lo help all conserrfolionists deliver
projects that are ethical and effeclNe.
Skills. We run online and class-based training courses Ihal lead to professional certification in
key conservation subjects. These are made accessible through bursarEs that cover some or
all of the course costs.
Ne￿ork. We provide on online community ofconseNolionists. This community provides o sofe,
colloboralive space for conservotionisls lo shore solutions, colloborate, and support one
anolherfs wellbeing.

Charitable activities
During 2023, we continued to focus on: providing essential knowledge lo wildlife
conservationisls via our fr￿ best praclices in key consetvation subpds.. providing training in
those subjects,. and hosting an online communty for wildlife conservationists to share,
collaborate and conned each olher.

All current versions of the best prodices continue to be freely avoibble for onyone lo downlood
vlo our website. In 2023, there wos a totol 2.063 downloads of our besl practices.
Durlng 2023, we successfully delivered14 online Iroining courses In total, 4 in our most popular
subject- PMWC, 3 in PPWC, 3 in GWWC. 2 in SEWC. 2 in MEWC. Our online training courses
continued to be popular and we endeavoured lo provide on accessible, friendly and engaging
learning environmenl for participanls around the world lo improve Iheir conservotion skills and
engage wilh each olher during Ihe live online training sessions.
590 new Iroining certthcales were issued, wilh 965 pwple taking part in WildTeam Iraining
courses (not all trainees look the exam and some certificates will be issued in 20241.
During 2023. we have had trainees lake part in our online Iraining courses from 75 different
countries (see mopl ond 225 organisalions. 98.57% of trainees would recommend our training,
wilh an average raling of 4.5 oul of 5. Of Ihose laking part, 53% were existing conservolion
pracfilioners, 30% were al Ihe slart of Iheir conservation career and17% were hoping lo switch
to conservation from anolher sedor.
We considerably expanded our bursary scheme for 2023, via an open opplicolion process for
approximately half of the number of places per course Itarget of 35 per training course,
minimum of360 forthe year in lotall as well as parlial bursaries. We are pleased lo report that
Ihe actual number of full bursaries equNalenl was 625. wilh 538 of those being IO0% fijll
bursary places to trainees. Ilhe remaining number is made up of partial bursaries ranging from

80% to 20% fundedl. This scheme hos helped to remove the barrier for those Ihol WlLDTEAhr
otherwise would not be able lo offord our training course and has therefore opened up our
reach globally and our impact.
We measure our indired impad by conducling an annual online suNey to ask train￿ alumni
how their new skills have affeded Iheir conseNation work. The indired impad indicalors below
are only derived from responses from the 5% 01 alumni who responded to the suNey. so the
aclual indicator volues will be much higher. Wia our annual benefils survey al the end of 2023.

To increase our capacity building further. during 2023 we started a new partnership wilh
Nalural Slale, Ihe aim of which is lo creale on-sile Iraining courses lo increase the number of
nature resloralion professionals across Easl Africa. Work slorted on a nature resloralion
planning course and for an orgonisational developmenl course.
WildHub is o free. member-led. online global communty of conservation professionals aimed
al creating a more diverse and inclusive conservation seclor lo drive innovalion. colloboralion.
and social justice. Responding to Ihe increased need of conservationisls worldwide to connect,
exchange knowledge and support eoch other online, WildHub wos lounched in 2020 and hos
grown lo a community of over 4.000 members from160 countries in lour years (by the end of
20231.
Thanks lo o repeal grant from the Rufford foundalion in 2023 and continued in-kind support
from Zapnilo, WildHub hos expanded ils conservation calolysl progromme from 26 catalysts
across 16 differenl countries. increased membership from 3,085 10 4,000. and increased the
representalion of global south members from 36% 10 46%. WiklHub is growing in member
counlries11601, building core community members1101, and increasing collaboration points
16,7091. From our annual suNey we know tho164% respondents shored that WildHub hos
helped Ihem find new ideas or solutions lo conseNotion work challenges.

Fundraising and marketing odNilies

In 2023, we changed lo o new hjnding approach. We still aimed to generate some income
from our training courses and portnerships. bul there was increased focus to fundraise from
donations and grants to cover our larger bursary scheme for fully/partially funded places on
our online training courses and Ihus increase Ihe number of conserlalionisls thal can build
their skills and for WildTeam lo indiredly contribute to wider conservation impod. The online
training courses. enable us to provide a lot of training with a small team. reoching more
conservalionisls around the world. To refled Ihis. in 2023. we achieved 49% of our own
generated income via training bookings and consultancy. which was less than Ihe previous
year. We focused more on securing funding from major donors and grants and towards the
end of the year, we took on the help of a grants specialist to increase our fundraising efforts.
We were successfvjl in securing a donation to cover the cosl of hiring a Communications
Engagement Specialisl to oversee and scole up our new bursary scheme, increose trainee
engagemenl and provide more communications efforts online, and WildTeam's website was
compleldy redesigned and updated and mode lully GDPR complionl. Work was completed to
creole conlent videos and donor engagement videos lo showcose the work of WildTeom.

We also received a generous repeat grant lo cover the costs of running our online community
WildHub for a year. We were also pleased to receive a few smaller grants from new funders
to cover the cosl of our bursary Iraining course places, which led lo Ihe successful
overachievemenl on Ihe original largel of places.
Support activilies
During the reporting period, we continued lo use our finonciol monogemeni process ond
sO￿are, which hos better enabled us lo manage ond report on our finonciol activities. Our
new Communications and Engagement Specialist slarted in April. Two new WildLearning
Training Specialists were recruiled lo help )Mlh rwlemty cover ond to expand our Iraining team
lin April ond October). A new part-time Operations Specialisl was also recruited in July lo help
support Ihe Operations Direclor. Our WildLearning Training Manoger left in Odober after over
7 years ol WildTeom and o new manager was recruited before the end of Ihe year la retuming
member of slaffl.

By the end of 2023, WildTeom hod recruited Ihree new Truslees, Helga Rainer, Emma Green.
and Winnie De'Alh providing WildTeam wilh six athe Trusl*s. The Trvsl*s of WildTeam UK
would like to thank all of our donors. parlners, clients. trainees and friends in conlinuing lo help
make our chority o success, and for us lo conlinue to make a difference lo the wildlife

Charitable adNities
Our main focus in 2024 will be to continue lo empower wildlrfe conservationists globally to
maximise Iheir potential ond hove futhlling careers by creating best practices, provKJing
professional Iraining, and mainlaining a global online community of conservalionisls lo
accelerate learning, collaboralion. and access to opportunities.
Following Ihe success of our larger bursary scheme in 2023. we will continue lo offer Ihe same
level of bursaries as was ochieved this year Itarget of 585 plocesl. Anyone is eligible to apply
for the bursaries from anywhere in the world. if they are currently working as. or wanting to
become a conservationist and otherwise would nol be able to afford lo lake part in our training
courses lexcepl those working for one of the larger wildlrfe conservation organisationsl. Once
a Trainee hos compleled a Iraining course with us and become certified in thol subjed, they
are Ihen eligible for further bursories.
We hove planned to schedule M online Iroining courses in each of our 5 subjects, oiming to
traln 600 conseNolionists in 2024. Our offered training courses ore listed on our website. We
also plan to continue to develop our leadership courses. The skills Ihal our Train*s gain. are
expected to help Ihem progress Iheir careers, raise more conservation funds lo support their
work, and conseNe/reslore wild areas more effedively.
During 2024, we plan lo signfficonlly ramp up our efforts for the Train the Troinerfs initiotive,
looking to grow Ihe Conservolion Trainers Nelwork. There is o growing need for pradicol, skill-
based Iraining to effeclNely oddress complex conservalion chollenges. The Conservation
Trainers Nelwork will be on internotional coalition of certffied Conservotion Troiners dedicoled
lo empowering conservalion professionals worldwide. Our members will deliver vocational
courses in essenlial conservolion skills. such os projecl monagemenl. granl writing, and more.
The ne￿Ork will be open lo unNersity instrudors. consuhanls, NGO staff, and anyone
possionate about Iraining others in vocational conser40lion skills. The Iroining of the* Irainers
and Ihe membership lo Ihe nelwork will be complelely cosl free.
By Ihe end of 2024. our online communty WildHub oims to.. have a tolal of 5.000 members
across 170 countries (increase of 1,000 new membersl, colleclNely sharing 850 conlent ilems
resulting in 200.000 page views,. WildHub aims lo have celebrated 10 Core community
members who signthcanlly contribute conlent in 2024; for members to collaborale on Ihe
plalform through o lotal of 7.500 comments, Q&A. conversations & follows. We will also be

investigating a new model of WildHub expansion based on partnering with low-income WlLDTEAhr

During 2024 we will conlinue lo work wilh our partner Nalural State lo develop a series of on-
sile Iraining courses to creale nalure resloralion profeSS￿nalS across East Africa. Aiming to
complele the courses in nalure restoration planning and organisalionol developmenl by mid-
year.
Fundraising aclmlies
We will continue to look lo secure funding from donors and grant makers during 2024 and
have submitted grant applications to fund our new trainer nelwork iniliative and to hjnd our
other initialives and operational costs, Iwhich we continue lo keep to a minimuml, we will
conlinue to get support in Ihis area from o gronl specialisl. We also aim to generate some
funds from our training courses and consullancy partnerships.
As we explore different funding income slreams, Ihere is still a risk lo our cosh flow and ability
to monoge ony lulls in income. To counteract this we continue to oim to build up our existing
reserves and work to secure funds to cover operational costs.
Support activities
Support aclivilies will conlinue as needed to support Ihe charilable adNities accordingly. In
addition to the recruilment of an Operations Specialist lo help provide more operational
support lo the growng leam and our choritoble activtties. during 2024 we will also look at
ways lo make sure we ore supporting our leom os much os possible wilh o heallhy working
environmenl ond teom wellbeing. There ore also plans to undertake troining for o designoled
menlal health al work firsl alder.

Basis of accounling
The financial statements have b￿n prepared under Ihe historical cost convenlion wilh ilems
recognised al cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant nolelsl to these
accounts. The accounls have been prepared in accordance with the Slalement of
Recommended Pradice.. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS1021 (effective l January 20191 and wilh Ihe Charilies Ad 2011.
Fund occounling
Unrestricled funds comprise of accumulated surpluses and deficils on general funds. They
are avoilable for use ol the discretion oflhe Trust￿S in furtherance of the ge￿ra1 objedNes
of the charity
Deslgnated funds are unreslrided funds earmarked by the Trusleesfor porlicular purposes.
They may be re-allocated
Restrlcted funds are subjeded to restridions on their expenditure Imposed by the donor or

All incoming resources are included in Ihe statement of financial aclNilies when the charity is
entilled lo, and virtually certain lo receNe, the incorr£ and the amount can be quanlified with
reasonable reliability.
