We measure our indired impact by conduding an annual online survey to ask alumni how
their new skills have affecled Iheir conseNation work. The indired impact indicalors bdow are
only derwed from responses from the 5% of alumni who responded lo Ihe survey. so the adual

used WildTeam besl practices and training lo..
- Spend £1 million in conservalion funds more effeclrrfely
- More effectively monage 1.6 million km2 of wild oreos
Raise £2.9 million conseNolion funds
- Wildlrfe that benefited for exomple, include nolive savannoh plonls in Nigeria, black rhino in

To increase our capacity building fijrther, we started a new partnership with Natural State, the

Fundraising and marketing odNilies
WILDTEAM.
In 2022, we achieved 52% of our own generated income via troining bookings and
consultancy, which was less Ihon the previous par. We also continued to secure funding from
major donors and grants. We V￿re successful in securing a donalion lo cover the cost of hiring
a new Partnership Engagemenl Specialist. The role aimed lo engage with polential partners
from both conseNation organisations and universities thal provide wildlife conseNalion
degrees. Ihal may be inleresled in providing their staff and sludents funded places on our
training courses. so as to increase our reach and thus conservation impad. We had some
inilial success wilh some unNersrties, but Ihis was limiled. so we switched our approach lo
start to focus on increasing the number of bursaries on offer instead lo widen our impact. We
also received a generous grant lo cover the costs of running our online community WildHub
for a year. Through the work of our part-time Communications Specialist, we continued to
strengthen our markeling efforts. rrninly online, lo more widely communicate the work of
WildTeam ond seriices on offer.
Q9
Towards the end of 2022. WildTeom r￿a1u(rted its current funding model lo check its
sustainability and impact. Premously we focused on generoting more of our own income via
delivery of our training courses and consullancy work lo rLNJch a more sustainable level and
increase our financial resilience. However, this ￿Med lo limit our impact and was not as
successful as hoped. We inilially saw an increase in paid places on our online Iraining courses
during Ihe pandemic. but this seemed lo drop down after the effects of Covid subsided,
polentially because conservolionisls were back oul in Ihe field on project activities or back lo
studies and had less lime for copacity building. WildTeam alw wonls to make sure we con
make our Iroining accessible lo anyone who would benefil from it ond underslond Ihol cosl
can be a lorge barrier. Therefore, bwards Ihe end of 2022, insleod of fcKusing on increasing
Ihe number of paid places on our courses. we piloled a scherr£ of providing more bursaries
Ibolh full and portioll to increase Ihe accessibility lo our courses for ￿eryOne oround Ihe world
who may nol olhemise be able lo afford our c(xJrses and thus increase our impad. This will
mean working lo secure more granls and donations lo cover Ihe bursaries in 2023.
Support adivilies
During Ihe reporling period, we continued to use our financial management process and
so￿ar0 which has betler enabled us lo manage and report on our financial adivilies.
